I wasnt aware i had to spell out my every thought everytime i post. There are what 10 threads on the GM search? Pretty sure everything that could have been said has been said already. Also you might want to look up the word prefer it doesnt mean doesnt like...

 

Farming the Browns (see what I did there?) again worries the hell out of me. Why is it whenever we are the worst at something, we look to replace that worst with someone from a worse franchise? I don't know anything about Farmer I just hope to hell he's not Brian Daboll 2.0.

 

Farmer isn't my first choice, but he's very well regarded around the league. There are some questions as he's been mostly responsible for Pro personnel and not so much college, but the potential is there to be a very good General Manager.

Browns should promote Ray Farmer, not let him leave

Why cant we get rid of Peterson ? why doesn't Ross find another confident or guru to lean on ? I sure do miss Wayne H. he was a classy and we respected owner.

 

Huh. Funny. Neither did the Buccaneers.....probably because none of them are interested in leaving their current jobs right now. You know, considering the fact that Tom Gamble left San Francisco to go to Philadelphia to be with his father, who is now on hospice care. You know, considering that Eric DeCosta does not ever interview when teams request to interview him. You know, considering the fact that Scot McCloughan almost lost his family because he let the GM job with the 49ers consume him and now prefers to be with his family and work from his home as a senior personnel executive rather than working in Seattle.

Let's ignore those facts and continue to perpetuate this myth that no one wants this job and that the people who are being interviewed are not qualified. Let's ignore the fact that everybody the Dolphins have interviewed have had interviews in the past for GM jobs with the exception of Dennis Hickey. Let's ignore the fact that Ray Farmer, Lake Dawson, and Jason Licht have been finalists for other jobs over the past two years, that Omar Khan and Brian Gaine have had several interviews for GM spots over the past two years, and that Brian Xanders has actually been a GM.

 

Its easier for some people to perpetuate the story about noone wanting to come here...easier to say that we cant get good people to give interviews....easier to try and slam Ross, Philbin and Aponte. Makes it all easier. Tell me where all these other GMs who has not interviewed with us...then went on and interviewed with another team? If they turned us down...it has to be because we are terrible and dysfunctional...cant possibly be for any other reason. I swear I thought the articles in the papers and some of the posts on here were terrible when Ireland was here. Seemed to have really become worse and alot more pointed AGENDA wise.
We kill the team for interviewing someone and then kill them for not signing them...we kill them for not asking a candidate to come in...and then kill them for bringing that same person in. Its become a bashfest around here NO MATTER WHAT DECISIONS ARE MADE

 

The majority of the fans can't think for themselves. They have bought the narrative that guys like Armando is selling, but they refuse to listen to a guy like Jeff Darlington, who is much more reputable, on the same subject.

 

Ireland was the Dolphins pariah for years. Now that he is gone, all the pent up frustration from these messageboard personalities is looking for something to focus on. There isn't one stand out figure to hate on, so it changes. Ross at times, Aponte, Philbin... or simply the process of hiring a GM. It is all manufactured by a depraved psyche that has a bent from their own unfulfilled desires. Inevitably there will be a single locus that will satisfy their irrational discontent.

What's funny is that some are trying to say that Carl Peterson is going to advise Ross to hire someone that he is connected with, and the media is drawing the connection to Ray Farmer since they worked together. The fact is, you can probably draw an indirect connection from Carl Peterson to every candidate on the list.

For example, Tom Gamble who chose not to leave Philadelphia. Did you know that Carl Peterson and Tom's dad Harry Gamble worked together in Philadelphia for 2 years and are friends?

Did you know that Omar Khan got his professional start under Bill Kuharich in New Orleans....the same Bill Kuharich that worked with Carl Peterson in both Philadelphia and Kansas City?

 

He's like every coordinator that doesn't have a quality quarterback to work with. With Daboll as the coordinator, the Dolphins offense went from averaging 17.2 PPG under Chad Henne to 21.7 PPG with Matt Moore at quarterback.
