yeah I think there will be major changes to preseason next year.. the NFL isn't going to risk hurting their brand by losing key players to IR. I can see a two game preseason next year and no starters will play. More scrimmages/duo practices in shorts with a red jersey'd quarterback on both teams.

The pre-season shouldn't be shortened. It's important to see young guys play. You've got 90 guys on the roster and 2 games isn't enough time to evaluate them. Look at someone like Chris McCain. Guy balls out in practice, doesn't do **** but run into people during the actual game. Then you've got guys like Zach Vigil, who need to demonstrate consistency over a period of time (which he has, called that one).
Don't want star players to get hurt? The coaches have every right not to play them. Most of these star players are vets and don't need pre-season anyway.gunn34 and Unlucky 13 like this. -
Well if the NFL is serious about the rumors of the Minor league starting up next year I think we could see a reduction of the pre-season games.

I can remember having to sit thru 6 preseason games followed by a 14 game schedule.Whoever won the superbowl had an extra preseason game against college all stars too.
