I've noticed this about Tannehill, and it bothers me a bit: at least via the media, I cannot recall him taking ownership of HIS mistakes. "We" didn't throw that late interception. YOU did.
I think it would go a long way with your teammates if you owned up to your play, bud. Maybe he does behind closed doors? I just get this feeling that his teammates are tiring of Tannehill. Maybe I'm reading too deeply into things. But I tell you, Golden Boy better show up or shut up soon or it won't be "we" much longer.
I don't mind mistakes if you fix them. Some of these nuances, I thought Tannehill has fixed. Turns out, he still makes some of them when he shouldn't. Sack fumbles, etc. Are we starting over AGAIN with a 5th-year pro who just signed this big contract? If ANYONE should smooth over this transition from a different coaching regime, it should be him. I feel like he's a rookie all over again! I'm frustrated.

"Ryan Tannehill in offensive problems: "It's everyone starting with me."
He literally took ownership last night, and typically does.

Yeh i'm done with Tannehill. It is so bad the Browns let us have the ball first in overtime because they knew we wouldn't do anything with it. Then yesterday i heard an announcer say the Denver rookie QB just put up 4 touchdowns against the Bengals but don't expect that from 5th year Tannehill with a new OC...WTF? Let him go it can't get any worse.

*In my defense, I truly do not recall him taking blame for much. Or at least, not to the point that it really sticks out for me. I usually do some looking around before making bold statements like I did. I'm just a little frustrated and thought I'd put it out there. I pulled my pants down before realizing I didn't put on my skivvies. Basically, I just showed my ***.Fin D likes this. -
Big Ben in his 5th year onwards in fumbles: 14, 7, 6, 9, 6, 9, 9, 2, 4 (current year)
Aaron Rodgers in his 5th year onwards in fumbles: 10, 4, 5, 5, 5, 12, 8, 3 (current year)
Flacco year 5 onward: 9, 8, 6, 5, 2 (current year)
Just some examples, and I bet if you looked at ratio of times sacks vs fumbles, Tannehill wouldn't be too far off a number of people despite #s of 10, 10, 9, & 9.
These fumbles wouldn't be as magnified if he and the offense played better otherwise.
Note: Not saying Tannehill is secure with the ball (he isn't), just saying the issue is magnified because of the # of sacks and lack of offensive success in general.cuchulainn and Colmax like this. -
you know what's ironic, is that Cutler seemed to improve under Gase. He could be a veteran stop gap if cut by Chicago

You are absolutely right, though: if the offense played better overall, some of these mistakes would be a little more palatable.
Unfortunately, it exponentially adds to the other issues. That late INT just shouldn't happen. I feel the sack/fumble could have been averted. I feel a "normal" QB who's been around for a while should not have these rookie-ish mistakes. I don't think that's a big ask.
Sometimes, things happen. I get that. It just seems that it happens with him at the most inopportune times more than I'd like to recall. I'm just simply frustrated and hate that, as a fan, there isn't much with him that I'm seeing in the way of marked improvement. And I want that.
Right now, I just don't have much faith in him being down by a couple of scores starting the fourth quarter in ANY game. -
Not to excuse him for his part but he has had a putrid line his entire tenure with the team and now there is no running game.Plus the defense can't tackle.

If I had to sit here and think about it, I would say that I have seen a Rivers, Brees, Ben, make mistakes late in the game. It may be that because I do watch THIS team, it's closer to me; which skews my position a bit.
I'm just not confident if Miami is down by 10 starting the fourth that Tannehill can bring back the team for the win. These other guys, I would. I'm only comparing him with them because he's in a similar pay grade. I kind of expect it. I think his teammates expect it. This is what frustrates me the most. Tannehill ain't gonna will a win. -
