You know what seperates the dolfans on this site from fans from other sites ? Pure honesty, unlike pats fans we dont think winning by hook or crook is a great thing we call it for what it is, MANY members in here believe that call was bad. But what can you do its done and over with we got over us being screwed over in the Saints game.

I don't blame them for being angry because it was a bad call. Why do you go there and rub it in?
I would look both ways before crossing the street if I were you. :up:dolfan7171, Miguel and RunRickyRun like this. -
Time to have fun with that Gator/TB fan ;). -

Well to be honest we did get the officiating that game. Too bad we can't get it playing the Pats or Aints.
-
absolutely horrific call.
-
I don't care honestly we finally got calls go our way and got a win out of it. I'll take it.

Calls like that that could bounce either way I take in stride. If it bounces our way, great, if it doesn't, that's cool too.
As rough as it is getting those calls I don't think I'd rub it in, or argue with a fan of an opposing team about it unless it was the Pats, Jets, or Bills. Then all bets are off ;) -
Especially considering how bad the calls have been for the Gators this year. -
The ref did a bad job explaining what they ruled. He said the receiver had possession of the ball but the ball never hit the ground and popped out. If he had possession he was down by contact. I'm assuming that they felt he had possession then fumbled before making contact with the ground.
It's what it is at this point. If Tampa's D hadn't folded at the end it would be a moot point. -
After the Darren Sharper touchdown against us I have no pity for blown calls anymore. We've had our share of them go against us. If the officials called holding today the game would not have been close anyway. Cam Wake is still getting held.

As for the call, it was iffy. Probably bad, but whatever. Like I told my wife, "don't care, we've been screwed before too and it usually evens out." She told me the Bucs don't care about that, they didn't do anything wrong and I just laughed! -
To be honest, I do not think it was a bad call. I think it was a bad TV production. I usually envy a FOX broadcast but not today. I think they must have had only one guy in the truck. That play was a pivotal moment in the game. It would seem to me that at some point it would have been slo-motioned down to the mili-second. We get nothing.
I expect the NFL Network to have this one on "official review" on their Tuesday broadcast and I think this is exactly what you will see. Freeze this video at THE VERY BEGINNING of 00:41. You can be at LATE 00:41/ EARLY 00:42 and the elbow will be down. At EARLY 00:41 you will see the ball moving before any part of Clayton is down. Although Ron Pitts hopes "elbow down" right after this point in the video, you can plainly see the ball movement when only a HAND is down. The fact is that Clayton's elbow was not down at 00:41 when the ball started moving away from Clayton's chest. By 00:42 in the video you can almost see the entirety of Claytons jersey number. The ball was clearly moving during the one second span of 00:41.

There is nothing controversial about the call at all. The terrible broadcast along with the terrible broadcast crew was responsible for any controversy created by the call.dolfan7171, dolfan22, Colorado Dolfan and 9 others like this. -
Questionable call but who cares. We got ****ed in the Saints game, so justice has been served.

maks up for the bad saints call but its nice to be on the other side of these ridiculous games. (and if the call was correct makes up for the colts collapse) makes up for something. besides this just puts the bucs one step closer to getting defensive tackle Suh. They should be thanking us

Whether it was a bad call or not, the Bucs still controlled their destiny in that game. If they want to know why they lost the game they don't need to look any further than an idiotic excessive celebration penalty after their TD with 1:13 left, or their defense's inability to stop us when it mattered.

a ref making one of the stupidest decisions i've ever seen isn't. -
It feels good that for ONCE the refs had money on US
-
Yeah, we stole that. I am not sure why it was ruled a fumble, and if it was, why couldn't the ball be advanced. The refs had a chance to review the call and I do not understand what the official ruling was.
Wouldn't the player be down if he's on his back or was there a Dolphin player under him as the ball was coming out....?
Can anyone explain what the ruling was....?
d-1 -
I'm not an expert on the rules. But I understood the refs explantion. -
a player must maintain possession throughout landing I believe and since he was rolling I guess the play wasn't over and since the ball popped out it would have made it incomplete...however the ball never touched the ground when it came out so they called it an INT
I'm guessing it has to do with that rule they used against that raiders WR
also if the correct call was made it would have been a pick six
the review in the booth was whether it was incomplete or a pick because they didn't know if it ever hit the ground I believe.....just what I think -
I dont understand why the TD didnt stand.
-
the play was a non-issue
however, our own home town paper says it best:
Miami Dolphins escape with win over lowly Buccaneers -
Hell, we may have gotten better field position without that penalty. -

JT got cheated out of another TD. I was visiting the NFL Hall of Fame web site and not only did the Hall get Ted Ginn's jersey and shoes from his two 100+ yard kickoff returns, but they also asked for JT's jersey after he set the NFL record for most TD's by a defensive lineman, beating the record he co-held with Jessie Tuggle. Way to go JT....you will be elected into the Hall about five years after you retire:

Thing is though, The ref gave them back the ball after calling it an incompletion, before the TB coach called for the review. IIRC it was still gonna be like 2nd or 3rd down. so at least one more chance to get the first down. instead, he challenges and doesn't get the exact call he wanted. He just wanted the guy called down by contact. Personally, i think he kinda deserved it. Any time that there is a possible change of possession like that and the ref gives you back the ball, take what you got and don't push your luck. IMHO he got a little greedy and should have just taken the incomplete.
