I have a High Quality video file on my computer that I would like to transfer to an external hard drive, however my computer wont let me move such a large file -4.5 gigs. Is there a program that can handle the transfer of larger files?
thanks

I don't know. You should be able to move any file you want. Is the external drive being recognized?

yes, if you reformat a drive all the data is lost. if you're external HD is bigger than your internal HD you could compress the files down to .zip and see if they would be under the size limit but I don't know if you want to go through all that.

not that I know of. I don't use windows, though.

alngp is correct. You should be able transfer those files with ease.
Maybe the file is corrupt or there isn't enough space on the external hd.TheAnswer385 likes this. -

sign up for an account at 4shared.com . they're 4 gigs each. if you have certain things that you just can't lose then put those there and reformat the drive.
yes, if your drives are FAT then you want them to be NTFS.
