Interesting article from Kotaku, even if a lot of it doesn't apply to me personally. Honestly, aside from moving from the PS2, through the whole lifespan of the PS3, and now into the PS4 era, gaming hasn't changed all that much for me in the past ten years. I play the same type of games as I did then, in much the same way. The only real difference is that I now sometimes buy DLC, which wasn't much of a thing on the PS2. Back then, I was a moderate PC gamer very much into Civ and Sim City, and a few other similar games, and now cannot game on the PC at all due to everything being online, but I've gotten over it.
How has gaming changed for you guys? Much at all?

Since I was in college 10 years ago, and that was right about when I got into the xbox and xbox live, I'd say gaming hasn't changed all that much for me, except that I now have a proper gaming PC and have expanded to a wonderful slew of titles I didn't have access to on consoles, or just better versions of games than what I would have got on console.
I guess I could say I play a lot less direct multi-player than I did 10 years ago (and less gaming overall), but I generally play the same type of games. Except in the past 10 years one of my favorite game series has been stopped, in NCAA football. Hopefully they are able to bring it back at some point though.Unlucky 13 likes this. -
Same here for NCAA. I played it almost every year it existed. From the sounds of it, it seems like it might be able to come back as early as 2017 if EA wants to.

I've gone from PC (Shooters (Doom, WOLF3D, Nukem, Flight Sims) -> Console (Madden, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear) -> Console (Madden, FIFA, COD/BF) -> PC (SWTOR, Elder Scrolls) + Console (COD + MGS + Main Titles)
I've noticed changes in my game tastes. I've gone from emersive games to less emersive games. I think that's mainly because of life. I simply can't dump 3+ hours into a game anymore. Really trying to get proficient at FIFA.Unlucky 13 likes this. -
I still do games that are just as emmersive. I don't have as much time for gaming as before since becoming a stay@home dad - I used to dedicate some days off entirely towards it, but I've never been one to play multiple games at the same time either. Starting a year ago, Ive gone from Madden, to DA:I, to AC, back to The Witcher 3, and now back to DA:I. Roughly two month spans with one game before switching again, 1-2 hours at night after the family goes to bed.
When I was single (2004 and before), gaming was like a second full time job, but thats a long time ago.BlameItOnTheHenne likes this. -

Kotaku is the vaguely gaming but really more interested in stirring up SJW BS arm of Gawker.
It's not rage. It's a conscious decision to purposefully avoid anything related to Gawker, much like how one consciously avoids lepers. -
LOL ok. For me, I actually find that they post several interesting gaming and/or geek culture items every day. Seems like a pretty good site, but maybe I'm not digging into areas that others are.
