With the resurgence of Reggie Bush he has less than 30 yards to go to achieve a 1000 yards of rushing on the season. Many of us, me included though Bush was a bust and a waste of money and talent. But he has stepped up to the plate and been a true leader on offense. The second part is that Brandon Mashall is already over 1000 yards of receptions on the season. So all indications point to this Miami Dolphin offense of having a player with over 1000 rushing and a 1000 in receptions so I am hoping some of you can help me out. How many other teams in the Nfl has both going for them this season so far? And was the last time the Dolphins produced these stats on offense? Regardless it is a huge achievement and I really believe this was only achieved with Matt Moore as the quarterback.

Texans could have 2 1k rushers
Atl in Turner and White
Think Philly will have the same thing as well with McCoy -
I dont think in Phins history theyve ever done that.
Confirmed via Pro Football Reference. Never been done.FinNasty, unluckyluciano, MonstBlitz and 2 others like this. -

Turner and White (ATL) and Jackson and Mathews (SD) have already done it. Benson and Green (CIN), Fitzgerald and Wells (ARI) and of course Marshall and Bush are more than likely to do so. Boldin and Rice (BAL) have a shot at it as do Johnson and Washington (TEN).

This duel threat is very real and legit. It guarantees that we will have at least 5 wins on the season...

It just goes to show the only thing we're missing is a franchise QB. Only problem is the only thing just about any team is missing is a franchise QB. Hides a lot of blemishes. Look at the Colts. But just allow yourself to think for a moment...IF Peyton Manning could come back healthy, and IF we could trade for him, pairing him with the weapons we have on offense that you describe, and the defense that has taken the field the last 7 games...OR...if we are able to draft one of the top guys and they turn out to be worth their weight...
I think it moved...

If Ricky had his head on straight he would have been among the greatest RBs ever.
And if his dad didnt molest him chances are his head would be on straight. -
Wrong Miami had a 1000 yard rushers of Tony Nathan and damn it i forgot his name now but i would thought Mercury Morris and Tony Nathan did it but i could be wrong.
i did read that we have ony three wrs that caught 3 tds in one game which is interesting.
O.j McDuffie Lamar Thomas and Mark Clayton or Mark Duper.
the problem with Miami is that we havent bee goood in the running game and passing at the same time. -
As far as RB:
Reggie Bush (11) will become the franchise's 8th 1,000-yard rusher in a single season, joining the likes of Larry Csonka(71,72,73), Mercury Morris(72), Delvin Williams(78), Karim Abjul-Jabbar(96), Lamar Smith (00), Ricky Williams(02,03,09) and Ronnie Brown(06).
As far as WR:
Brandon Marshall (10,11) is the 7th 1,000-yard receiver in a single season joining the likes of Mark Duper(83,84,86,91), Mark Clayton(84,86,88,89,91), Irving Fryer(93,94), OJ McDuffie(98), Tony Martin(99), and Chris Chambers(05)
P.S. I have seen it written that Bush is the teams 7th RB to reach 1K in a single season, but not sure if they are leaving off D. Williams, Karim, or L. Smith...but in fact Reggie is the 8th. -
...and P.S. what Vinny Fins stated was not wrong....this 2011 season with Marshall @ WR with 1k, and Reggie Bush @ RB with 1k will be the first time in Franchise History that Miami has a WR and RB both reaching 1,000 yards respectively in the same season at those positions.
closest we came was 4 yards shy with Paul Warfield in '71 with Csonka's 1k. -

Williams best year he averaged 4.8 ypc. Sanders averaged 5.0 for his entire career. Barry had 1,300 yards or more (including 2,053 in 97 with 6.1 ypc) 9 out of 10 years in the league, the one season he didn't he had 1,115 yards but he only played 11 games that year (was on pace to get over 1,600 yards). Williams got over 1,300 yards 2 times in 10 full seasons. If those two were on the same team at the same time Williams would have been riding the bench and only getting carries when Barry needed a rest.
Barry was also the greatest college RB of all-time. The only RB in the same conversation with Sanders is Brown. Two different styles. -

Again, this isnt a knock on you specifically or anyone of your generation who missed out on seeing the GREATS of the game play (we are born when you are born and can only judge based on our eyes, it taints sometimes)....but let me say Jim Brown is untouchable as G.O.A.T. RB! Not even Gale Sayers, OJ, Sweetness, Sanders, Dickerson, Faulk, or Emmit Smith (even a beast like Csonka) can hold a candle to his skillset. And they all will tell you that too. Jim Brown is the CLASS of the CLASS. -

I'm just blown away this is the first year we've had a 1k yard rusher & receiver at the same time, and it's on one of the 5-6 worst years this franchise has had.

I remember the year Csonka and Morris both got 1000 yards, they received a lot of press over it as the first duo to do in in NFL history. In 1971 Csonka averaged 5.4 yards a carry. And to think Miami also had Jim Kiick as a running back, they were known as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
