Tyler Johnson getting $10M plus, Bazemore getting $20M, Mozgov getting $16M, Noah getting more than $17M? What the hell is wrong with these people?

NBA is a player's league, bro.

I dont like the Noah deal...hopefully we pump him up and dump him after he gets off to a big start...but its not going to be a bad deal compared to a lot of trash given outsports24/7 likes this. -

I dunno I personally wouldn't pay whiteside the max but i know that's obviously what hes about to get. He just reminds me too much of beasley lot of talent but dumb as bricks bball iq. I dont view him as much of a player outside his wingspan.
I'm more annoyed we're about to lose tyler johnson and deng. -

If Timofey Mozgov is getting 16 per, then Hassan and everyone else, is getting a max deal.

Demar DeRozan signs 5 year $137m contract with Toronto.

No wonder Wade is pissed. Most of these guys signing these contracts can't hold his jock.

So far DeRozan resigned with Toronto.
Beal is back with Wiz.
Batum back with Hornets.
Alot of guys are resigning with their teams, could be a bear market for us especially if we miss out on our big targets.

If any NBA owner has the balls to cry about money ever again I'm punching them in the face. Only a bunch of idiots would set up a market like this.
On a side note I feel a little better about over paying for Beal, at least he still has some upside, I mean some of these deals are so obviously bad its insane.Boik14 and sports24/7 like this. -
Hassan Whiteside has resigned with the Miami Heat.

AP reporting it's the max for Hassan. 4/98 mil
Section was right. Heat weren't gonna lose an asset over money.

I think KD should do a 1 and done with OKC and we get him next year plus some better role players with the higher cap and better FA class.

We still love Hassan! So glad he resigned!

FA losers to this point:
Portland
Parsons is no Whiteside
Dallas
A lit bag of **** all is no Whiteside
Lakers
Mozgov is no Whiteside
Whoever is negotiating $10 million+ for Tyler Johnson.
Toronto
That's what it takes to keep him, but unless he changes his game, he'll never truly be worth that contract.
Washington
Somehow makes paying DeRozan look like a steal.
New York
Joakim NO
Miami Dolphins
Still can't justify that Mike Wallace contract.

Wade comes off petty with his caniborrowfivedollars tweet. Youre a multi millionaire and youre 35 past your prime. Stop being disrespectful

Multiple teams have made multi-year offers to Wade according to Woj...

Because Whiteside has signed, I guess I get to roll out with the "y'all were crazy" speech. But seriously to me the decision was in Whiteside's handsbecause as Sec has always said, the Heat shouldn't have been in a mindset that they were gonna lose a young player they developed who is putting up Hall of Fame numbers because of money. If ultimately he just didn't want to be in Miami, he liked the nucleus in Portland better or was still a little miffed at the "tough love" approach Ethan talked about earlier on twitter, then that's something you can't control and so be it. But you don't lose him over money.
Yeah, I get trying to peg his salary at the absolute lowest it could go. I get that. Play with the numbers, TRY and appeal to he and his agent rationally about "real" money (after taxes), how if the "real" money in our offer is equal to the "real" money in the other offer then he should choose us by default, etc. But we had indications days ago that those arguments weren't going to fly, that his agent cared about nominal contract money and for the very logical reason that if he got traded to another team mid-contract and that team played in a state with taxes, he's ****ed. So at that point you say well ****, there goes that possibility, we're not gonna be able to pull a fast one on you. Here's your max contract.
And you look around at the money being thrown at all these other players, how is this not a no-brainer? Half a dozen times a year this guy is setting marks where his only company are literally among the best that have ever played the position. It wasn't easy but you got him to buy into your culture, you got him to trust you (being kicked around 8 different teams has led to trust issues, go figure), and you saw the proof of all that in the way he made observable improvements in certain areas. What is more incredible is it doesn't seem like there's any area where he isn't capable of improving. When you start to think his passing will always be ****ty, it improves a little. When you start to think his free throw shooting will always be ****ty, it improves dramatically. When you start to think he's never going to screen well, his screens improve.
When the dude went down injured against Toronto, that's pretty much when the series ended for the Heat. Yeah they lost Valanciunas but losing Whiteside was bigger for us than losing Valanciunas was for them.
As for the rest of free agency...I love Goran Dragic. I would absolutely HATE to trade him. He's such a good guy and a good Heat guy. But basketball isn't a sport where you can just collect good players. You can only put five out there. When you have the option of getting a GREAT player, even if it means losing a GOOD player, you have to do it because it moves the needle a lot. So if Durant is willing...The Rev, dolfan32323, eltos_lightfoot and 1 other person like this. -

Lebatard on the radio talking like Wade is seriously looking at other offers. Not sure what to think. He sounds like he's just making drama for the show but he's acting like players don't trust Riley.
-
Lin to Brooklyn for 3 years $36M. I don't get that for either party. I guess Lin has no interest in ever playing on a good team.
-
So let's say that MIA (and the rest of the NBA) strike out on KD. He goes back to OKC.
They've got HW back so I would think no more talk of AH or D12. Obviously DRZN went back to TOR, not that interest in him made a ton of sense anyway.
What's next if KD says TTYL?
