I thought I'd give us a place to discuss Marvel Movies in general since they have made the decision to begin making their own in house movies. Some of the other Marvel threads here were getting hyjacked so I thought this would be a place we could discuss some of the newest rumors in Marvel movies and post some trailors or other info on the incoming flicks.
Some movies I'd like to see Marvel produce:
- Shang Chi - Martial Arts and Spies / Assassins (Could be great film if they go Kill Bill Mode)
- Captain America vs the Nazi's and the Red Skull
- Daredevil 2 - bring back Bullseye and how about some more villians!
- Iron Fist
- Blade (More more more) Love vampire flicks and Blade movies are great. Can they film from jail?
Iron Man
I thought Marvel did a great job on Iron Man. The story flowed well and Robert Downey Jr played a perfect Tony Stark. To think way back they were talking Tom Cruise for this role makes me shudder. He would have ruined that character. Nicolas Cage could have been a good Tony Stark, but I didn't like him in Ghost Rider much. Downey played the role to a tee and gave us something to look forward to in the next several appearances of Iron Man (Iron Man 2, Hulk, Avengers, etc).
I would like to see more fighting in the next film, and the fun part of doing an Iron Man character is he has all those invention gadgets that always keeps things fresh. Hopfully Marvel will stay true to the comics story and bring in some of the villians that we all know and remember!

They need to do the Moon Knight. ;)
And if they do they can incorporate Werewolf By Night or Morbius into it.

Oh heck yeah! How did I forget him. One of my favorites by far! Plus it would be such an easy movie to make tech wise. I wouldnt mind seeing the guy that played transporter play Moon Knight. I think the Werewolf theme would be awesome along with some military angle.Pagan likes this.

Another thread is reporting Brad Pitt is going to be cast as Thor in an upcoming movie.

That would be a travesty. Thor is a freaking Norse god. Unless Pitt can add 6 inches to his height and put on about a hundred pounds of muscle, he'd be horrible in that role. Maybe he could play Donald Blake...Pagan likes this.

I think if they went the hippish Ultimate Thor route, Brad Pitt would be pretty good -

No, that was Donald Blake who found the hammer. When he struck it (disguised as a cane) against the ground, he would turn into Thor, who looked nothing like Donald Blake.
The Ultimate Thor is also a Norse god and is also huge. They need to go with an unknown in this role I think. -
I wouldn't mind a sequel to Daredevil. Colin Farrell was a pretty good Bullseye IMO.

If you went for sizes for a vast majority of comic book characters it would be nothing but weight lifters and they would look small.

Not the ones who've had movies made about them. Iron Man is in a powered suit...otherwise, he's normal. Spider-Man is a skinny kid in the comic books. The Hulk is a gigantic bruiser, which is why he's been CGI'ed. The Fantastic Four is fairly normal sized except for the Thing. The X Men are also fairly normal sized except for Colussus and Beast...Wolverine is actually supposed to be very short, so in that respect Hugh Jackman is actually a bit too tall for the role.
When you get to heroes like Captain America, Thor, Power Man...guys like that are supposed to be big and muscular, especially Thor. It's probably one reason they haven't been put on film yet. But I refuse to believe there is no big guy out there who can act. -

They need to redo Generation X.
I think it would be an interesting movie if done right. Each character has enough back story to keep the story interesting, including Penance (not pictured). -
Spider-Man is HUGE in the comic books.
Wolverine is HUGE in the comic books as well. Even at 5-6, the guy is pure muscle.
Thor is a god, he can be powerful and not be muscular. -
If any of you caught the movie 13 Warriors with Antonio Banderas there was a guy that played a Viking King, the oldest of the Brothers that was poisoned....He'd be a great Thor.

Brad Pitt of 12 monkeys and Troy I do think would fit Hippy Thor (Ultimate Thor) quite well
If they went the route of 616 Thor, I do not think Brad Pitt is Viking enough. Which I hope they don't because they way Thor speaks is annoying -

I wonder if Hawkeye, Power Man,Vision, and Scarlet Witch will be in the Avengers movie? I hope Hawkeye makes it. That character could be a cool movie hero.

Too bad they didn't set up the Scarlet Witch and QuickSilver in the X-Men movie for them to become Avengers -
I also wonder what is going on with the next Punisher movie. My son said he saw somewhere that Thomas Jane has no interest in playing the character again.

Yes, but it's easier to get a short guy buffed up a bit than to find a 6'6" 300 pounder with 3% body fat.
At the very least, he's supposed to be a prototype Viking in appearance. That doesn't call for a short, skinny Brad Pitt. -

Spider-Man is ripped in the comic books. He would be a solid 250 pound guy in real life. (I know he is not 250 pounds in the comic books, comic books are not realistic)
Ultimate Thor looks like a hippie. Would work really well with short, skinny Brad Pitt if he bulked up a little. -
blodier and darker does not even begin to describe what they need to make with DD. First they need to get an irish looking person to play Murdock, not a cardboard cutout like Affleck. Then they got to do away with the ridiculous perfume placement shots (like the one with the mask and the flowers after he beaats kingpin), they need to understand that the power of the character is his status as a comic book noir figure not a popcorn comic book character (lest we forget he launched the career of frank miller).
What they did with DD was absolutely appalling. -
No, not really. Bruce Lee was more ripped than anyone I've ever seen and he never topped 150 in his life.
No, not unless every other actor in the movie was under 5'5". -
Bruce Lee has nothing on Peter Parker, comic book version.
