I have Falcons in week 2!
I see Sick AND Rigo this year. I'll tell y'all who's better once I play 'em. lol. ') -

Before season started I was just going throw out suggestion of a point cap against CPU games to keep stats and everything a little more down to earth, and not have an arms race. Little late, I see Alex just threw up 100 on the Giants lol.
-
NFC East & Browns, Lions, Panthers, Ravens
I might be cruising for a sub 500 season. -
I dunno. I don't grudge Alex for playig a well as he can, since he's able to, but having my players progress less if they don't keep up with those stats makes me less into this franchise stuff.
I immediately thought about a league for mid level skill dudes again. I wouldn't quit this one, but in rec league sports you just wanna play with other ppl at your level or a bit above it, not way way above it.
Just my two cents. Not sure I like capping guys if they're good enough to score lots, but I definitely need at least one league with reasonably realistic skill levels and stats. I don't know.Crappy Tipper likes this. -
I don't wanna complain about good players doing their best, though, just saying I feel like I'd be enjoying league play more in league where people were close in skill, not where there are some huge gaps.
That's why rec leagues always have levels you can join at so dominant players don't crush so-so players regularly. Kinda defeats the purpose of enjoyable recreation. If I were getting paid for this pile a pro athlete I'd suck it up, and I did that last season as I endured getting beaten plenty, but heading into another season against dudes who are CLEARLY far better players takes the fun outta it a bit.
Solution for me will be to continue in this league but I'm gonna see if a few of the mediocre dudes from here wanna do an alternate thing too, like join my mirror league. Cuz I ain't keeping pace with 100 point games all season here. -
Well I don't think it's too hard for some of us to run score up, it just makes stats less important and have to play cartoon games to keep up. I'm not saying anything against Alex or anyone else, ton of us did it last season, I had one game 80-17 myself with the rest in the 40-14 range. Doesn't bother me much but I was just tossing idea around.
Far as the skill gap I really don't think there's that much of one, there are certainly tiers but no player is invincible. I went 16-0 with four really close games and got it handed to me by Dupree (12-4), aboome is the king for sure but he had two regular season losses, Alex lost twice, Sick lost a few times, and so on. Aboome could go undefeated this season, who knows. I think it's fun having 20 people and different skill gaps like the real NFL, makes every week different and can have upsets. With my schedule I could go from 16-0 last season to 10-6 this season. We've played once outside franchise Barry and I threw two bombs to set up a last second FG to win by one, you're good and that roster is nasty. Go for NFC North title, man up. -
Oh don't worry I'm staying and playing. I just don't enjoy habit to play cartoon stat football either to make sure my guys can progress. I just don't enjoy trying to keep up with it.
I'll play here and take my lumps and dish some out too. I also plan on having another place I can play where stuff's not so over-the-top with madden skills and a dude can just compete at a lower level.
Not reason I can't do both.
And, Alex, I'm still beating you this season, but I may need Rigo's blitzes to do it. -
Mor....I can play anytime after 730-8 tonight. Just shoot me a text if u can.
Also whoever wins our game has a decent shot at the division since we got a sh-t load of CPU games. -
my guys progressed decently, i am not too upset about it. alex puts up 100 every cpu game to show how big his E-Dick is....then gets mashed by the saints....so its not like hes some madden guru or anything. I dont care if he puts up 200 on cpu. i just cant wait till one of his starters go out for the season cause hes blitzing and throwing bombs up 70 with 45 seconds left in the game
-
Sims got 47.sacks, led the league in tackles and got worse, so let's not talk progression.
Saints and Panther regularly score in the 70s now as well. -
But you're right, my list goes Aboome, You, Me. I just happen to be best against cpu. -
-
See I get too bored if I'm not scoring. It has nothing to do with proving anything, but if I know a play won't work I wouldn't pick it just to kill time.
Imo this season will be better than last. -
How is that fun for you though Alex? Just line up and play regular football, not running basic glitch plays that you know wouldn't happen in real life. It is glitching. Your exploiting a computer error. I mean, its your game, don't get me wrong. You paid for it, play it how you like, I just don't see how 20 sacks by your LB in a game is fun to you

So, are rosters locked from any FA signing???? I need access to PS3 to pick up guys that CPU has auto cut, and I need to grab the guys other Owners drafted for me.
So, are games on hold till say Friday? (or they can play with current roster but no signing of "unknown" FA??? -

I will say my guys progressed decently. Didn't seem worse than usual.
Myself his stats are so overblown I do not count them. -

Is anyone else here having issues signing into the franchise server?
My "Online" will connect to the EA serves, but once in the online menu it won't connect to the Franchise servers. Says they're down. -

Damn. I wanna play my game. Oh well. Later, maybe.

One of my goals this season was get to more pressure and sacks. Some players changed positions, traded some players, drafted some others, and switched to a new defensive playbook for my first game at least. Probably won't get the same results again but got 8 sacks, compared to 17 that I had total last season. The best part was every sack was from a different player and three different players had interceptions, including a backup LB, so had a lot of players contribute. Boogie and Peyton got to be guinea pigs for the new playbook and formations. My second rounder got a big hit on Peyton that sidelined him, was thinking if cart comes out for Peyton game one that would stink for him but he was fine. Game was pretty close until the very end when the pressure started throwing his offense off rhythm a little.
I received opening kickoff and Tribow drove down the field without an imcompletion and running game was doing its' part, then fumbled on the two that was recovered by Indy. Tribow continued to play really well until an interception and Peyton also threw one on his side of the field. Halftime it was Colts 10 - Jaguars 7. Second half defense started doing better which helped the offense. Was 28-10 with few minutes left from my own 10 and was planning on getting a first down or two and taking the clock down. Well... another lost fumble and Colts went the 10 yards for the TD. Final score 35-17. Good game Boogie, I'm sure you'll give me another fight our next game.
Tribow did good for first game besides the two picks, bad decisions on my part. He had a few scrambles and ended up with Player of the Game honors. First round pick was quiet but he'll have some good games later. Second rounder had two tackles and a sack. Not quite Trevor Pryce but he'll get there. Fourth round TE got one catch.
My schedule is rough as I knew it would be, was right about all the games. 10 user games (Colts twice, Texans Twice, Chargers, Browns, Ravens, Saints, Panthers, Falcons) and 6 user games. This year my user/cpu games are more evenly spread which is nice, last year first half was mostly CPU and second half of schedule was user game after user game. It's nice because if I get my butt kicked I can redeem myself quickly against the CPU lol. Got my bye week pretty early with week three. -
Who needs Calvin Johnson when I have...
wait for it...
Eric Pollard...who? -
I'm guessing the Seahawks won their game?
-
-
Oh I want to know what time the FA's are going to be unlocked so I can be there to get my share of the droppings.
-
I hope EA's servers are working tomorrow. I plan to play my week one game in the morning! The wait's been killing me.
