Per Omark.
I like Thigpen as he is sort of the anti Chad Henne, he leads with his chin win or lose.
Per Sparano's presser, he said Thigpen checked out of running plays in favor of passing plays, including hitting Hartline on a 25 yd throw down the sidelines, of course Sparano felt it should have been a run instead...

I feel better now. Glad to know he leads with his chin but it looks like it's made of glass. What exactly does this mean? That if he shows emotion it makes you feel better after a loss? Please clarify?

First start in two years on prime-time at home, with likely our season at stake, with not much preparation against a good defense; as many have said, "he looked like a deer in the headlights" and was probably wrong to expect anything too far from that. Then add in all the offensive line injuries, Marshall failing and then only playing a half, an absent running game for whatever the reasons, etc. and I have to cut Tyler some slack, though he still gets some blame. I'm a "Henne guy" but I just want to win (or even score a point) and don't think I'll give up on Thigpen because of that one performance, just like I didn't want to anoint "Tyler Beckham Thigpen" savior after one good drive against the Titans.

Show me a clip of Henne looking dead in the camera, after the Oline has given up 6 sacks, the #1 Wr goes out of the game at half time, and saying "I Blame Me".
Where is it?
Here is what Henne will say:
"We have to execute better, we left a lot of plays out on the field, blah blah"
Does this make Thigpen a better Qb than Henne?
Nope, but it is how a qb should handle a craptacular performance. -
Wow, Never once did Chad Henne ever say the 4 losses he played in were anyone in particular's fault. Hell, i believe several times he said he needs to play better. Give me a break with this crap. Nothing like trying to boost Thigpen back up after his embarassment last night. Even with all of the injuries, he was lost, clueless, and completely inaccurate on his throws even when he did have time to make plays at time. The anti-Chad Henne... Give me a break. What a joke.

regardless, even if he didnt ever say those exact words, its not the ANTI henne, cause that would mean henne is the opposite of accepting blame, so you are saying he blames others. show me where hes done that?! Thanks for playing.
Your hatred for henne is ridiculous -
Has Henne ever said "I blame me"?
Ever?
See, and here is the problem, some people are so emotionally invested in a player they simply project whatever they wish onto anyone who disagree with their views, they magically transform people into "you're a HATER!"
Of all the rubbish, Henne can take a lesson, take ownership personally, and be loud about it. -
Someone please make an Akon remix to this.

Anti is opposite. Choose your words wisely next time when you put thigpen on a pedestal while trying to bring down henne, it sounds foolish.fins4o8, Clipse, Ohio Fanatic and 1 other person like this. -
The Bears defense is good but not that good. I knew that Henning would have some completely bogus game plan in place. I had a feeling that the run would be completely abandoned. This team goes down 3-0 or 6-0 and Dan Henning switches to panic mode. Now Thigpen will take most of the blame for this loss and Dan Henning can hide in the shadows and deflect blame. Hey Dan, want to make another statement to the media? How about "I suck as an offensive coordinator and am stepping down IMMEDIATELY."
I don't know about everyone else but I want Ross and Henning both gone ASAP. -
And "yes" if it were Henne back there I'd cut him the same amount of slack, the Blue Jerseys were on our side of the LoS all night long, it really is that simple imho.
What I'm talking about with this thread is Thigpen taking ownership of the loss in clear terms, no "we have to execute better" or "I wish I could have that throw back" none of that stuff, just "blame me, I sucked" -

lol at padre using a horrible performance from thigpen, who even when he had time to throw, was all over the place......to put down henne somehow.
henne didnt even play. lmfao! New low padre. new low.brandon27, MarinePhinFan, Clipse and 1 other person like this. -
I'd respect Thigpen more if he came out and blamed the coaches.
Thigpen may be the anti Henne though. He's short, inaccurate and panics when pressured.fins4o8, Clipse, Rocky Raccoon and 3 others like this. -
Henne should take a lesson from Thigpen on how to handle things, that is the point of this thread, one has mutated this into some bizarre "u hate henne" object of projection. -
thigpen needs to take some lessons from henne, on how to plant his feet when he throws, how to make accurate throws, how to lead us down the field, how to hand off a reverse, how to throw the ball away.......etc etc etcfin13, brandon27, MarinePhinFan and 3 others like this. -
And Thigpen agrees with you, he should have thrown the ball away..that is the point of saying "blame me" -
For all the talk about injuries, Henne had to deal with the same things the whole 2nd half of last season.
I couldn't care less how confident these guys sound in post game press conferences. I don't care how much leadership he displays on the sidelines, before or after the game.
He led us to like 5 first downs, crossed midfield ONCE, had 2 turnovers, and generated 0 points. This is what matters.fins4o8, MarinePhinFan, Clipse and 1 other person like this. -
B) you can make a point on thigpen, without bashing henne. try it sometimePhinperor likes this. -
Maybe Henne should take responsibility for not helping Thigpen be more prepared? Thigpen looked clueless out there last night and having guys hurt didn't help anything but injuries be damned they still play.
Its like a political rodeo on here with the spin. Last week: Thigpen is the savior, all hail the conquer who beat the Titans (again the Phins were leading), look at the emotion, the players respond to his "fire", he's the "spark" they needed . This week: Well he is 3rd string, lots of injuries so don't blame him, Henne wouldn't have done any better.
Tell me how Thigpen laying it on himself meant **** when everyone knows the blame layed on the entire O & O side coaching staff. Did it make Thigpen a better player or you just feel he is "stand up guy".Phinperor likes this. -
All I have to say about all of this is:
I appreciate Chad Henne a hell of a lot more after yesterdays loss.
At least he knows when to throw the ball away............Rocky Raccoon and Phinperor like this. -

We'll see Sick, what I mean by that is between now and when we play the Raiders, there will be some changes in the lineup to be sure.
Maybe Henne is healthy enough to play?
If so, I'd prefer for him to be a bit..bolder? Recall Ronnie B talking about "we need to get some swagger on"?
I fully agree with him, sometimes it seems to me this team prefers to be the mousey girl in the corner of Art History class that no one notices, if Henne starts I'd prefer if he took a page from Thigpen's book, win or lose.SICK likes this. -

Oh, how I love it. Posters on this board are ready to throw anyone overboard who does not play like the incarnation of Superman, Dan Marino, and the Lord God Almighty. Three days prep, half of the O Line down, an utter boob calling plays, against a very good team on a nationally televised stage, and he is the worst thing to ever don a Dolphins uniform. OY!!!!

17 of 29 for 187 yards + 6 rushes for 27 yards? They're reasonable stats I think. Not amazing, but then again for a 3rd string QB, I'd say they're pretty good. :)
