Ginn just dropped a pass and he was wide open. He made one good play all season in the jets game

There is no question. Not necessarily Bowe - who knows if he was actually available. But this offense is a big #1 wideout away from being great. Heartbreaking loss. Ginn ... GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINN!
-
absolutley. FO dropped the ball not getting a WR. we got real good 2nd and 3rd WRs in hartline and camrillo and bess.......but i have said it all along. ginn is pathetic. and sucks dick as a WR

Hell, I think Matt Jones is available to be worked out tomorrow. At least he's shown flashes of actual talent.

Why are we talking about Ginn? I mean, did he throw two picks for TD's and give up 34 points on defense?

We drafted Ginn in the same draft a few spots ahead of Bowe.

The Defense played hard though, the offense gave the Saints the ball way too long. The Saints actually had a longer time of possession.
Well, at least we're the only team to actually scare the saints. this loss wouldnt have hurt as much if the bills or jets lost though. Now the Jets game becomes a must win. again. -

It's indefensible. He sucks.......he had a boatload of confidence after the Jets game and he comes out today and pretty much sucked.
That first pick 6 was completely 100% his fault. A well thrown ball from Henne right into his hands and he juggles it up on a platter for Sharper. And with that went all the Dolphins momentum.
I'm done with Ginn. he flat out suckssteveincolorado and FinSane like this. -
I don't think Ginn is a bust, but he certainly is no stud, he did have some decent moments today too so lets not throw him to the wolves just yet.
And honestly, do you think with the way our defense played today we stood a snowball's chance in hell of winning a superbowl? That is NOT a superbowl defense. That is two rookie CBs who are learning to be consistent. Some decent pass rush that showed up for two drives. A solid defensive line. ILBs that only know how to stop the run (when they feel like it), and some of the most inconsistent safeties in the NFL.
Our Defense WILL get better, but they are the reason we are losing games. To turn around and pin this on one player, on the offense, is insane. Getting gashed for 45+ yards by an f'ing tight end? Four times this season? Yeah, THAT is why we are not going to make it to the super bowl.
Good on the FO for identifying that we don't have a SB team this year, and saving those picks for the offseason.
This isn't our year guys, and if you thought it was I'm sorry you bought into it. It's a freaking 3 year plan, give it some time to culminate. Rome wasn't built in a day, but gosh darnit we've got some great piecesCashInFist likes this. -

This team may have some great pieces, but Ted Ginn is absolutely not one of them.
Like Jamar Fletcher and Eddie Moore before him, the pain won't be over until he gets the **** off this team.FinSane, Clark Kent, texanphinatic and 1 other person like this. -
Should of traded 5 first round picks for Ed Reed.

I'm proud of them for hanging on. But we should not have given up that big lead. And you know what...if the refs made the right call before halftime, the clock would have run out, the momentum would have still been ours and the score would have still been 24-3. That was HUGE. I can't blame the defense for this. They held the #1 offense in the NFL to 3 real earned points in the first half[7 ref points dont count.] Our Offense gave the saints the ball way too much in the 2nd half.
And Bowe hasnt been amazing, but the Dolphins have a much better team then the Brows so who knows. Ginn is not better than Bowe. -

Do you know the numbers of wide receivers that have panned out in the first two rounds? Here's a number for you: 40. Here's another number for you: 8.
The first number is the number of wide receivers taken in the last twelve drafts and the second number is the amount of them that have panned out.
You don't need to take a wide receiver in the first round to have a quality one. I'm not saying that we shouldn't take Dez Bryant for example, if he's available but it's not that easy to pick a WR in the first and think you have your solution.like2god and GridIronKing34 like this. -

If there is a marquee FA on the market at a need position, we have to bite the bullet and take them. Vincent Jackson would be phenomenal, but I dont see him in another uni next season.
Bowe does drop some, but he also makes plays. And this year maybe he just doesnt care playing for a team as horrible as KC lol.
Brandon Marshall would absolutely be worth multiple picks, but hes not for sale and never was.CashInFist likes this. -
However, we score 34 points, the defense cost us this game.Hellweed likes this. -

Isn't Brandon Marshall a free agent next year? He's not going back to Denver. You know it.
On the non-FA front, I have to wonder if Arizona might lock their RFA Breaston up and seek to deal Boldin in the offseason. You'd also think the Colts might be up for parting with Gonzalez, Collie, or Garcon.
I do think it's a near-lock that the first rounder goes for a defensive player, though. -
-
Who are the FA WR's next year? Ochocinco and Boldin are right? Anyone else? We better go after one. I'd rather get a known playmaker at WR then get one in the draft. We should use the draft to further build up our defense, and not have to use a rookie WR as our #1.
Why? Because we can be super bowl contenders in 2010. Look at the close games we lost to the saints and colts, two super bowl contenders. -
Dwayne Bowe was worth a 1st rounder and Teddy boy....it's painful watching Henne out there trying to beat Drew Brees with such a mediocre WR unit. When Ginn is your main guy, as ridiculously limited as he is as a WR, you can only expect so much from the passing game.
The folding chair defense is another story....we have some positions on D that are just as lacking if not worse than WR. But that's a different thread...this one is about WR.
As far as Ginn, I'd demote him tomorrow in favor of Hartline. Not saying completely bench him but he needs to give up some snaps to someone that's just a more reliable WR. The INT off his hands with him in traffic was signature Tedd Ginn......Reggie Bush looked tough compared to him today.
I thought Henne did pretty well considering what he has to work with and the fact that this was only his third start. That was arguably the best team in the NFL we just played. And thus far, no one has given them a game but us
I feel like we can win these next two weeks and be back on track to at least compete for the division.....we might have lost, but we're still alive. And a pretty decent team as I'm sure the Saints would tell you.CashInFist likes this. -
We need to beat the Jets. If we sweep the Jets I will forget about this loss. I will forget about this loss but never forget that Ginn is not a #1. Or a #2. He's like a one hit wonder each season.
-
In another post you were against drafting high unless it's a blue chip player.......and I agree. So trading for one is really your safest bet....and it's not gonna be cheap. If this position isn't upgraded, don't expect marked improvement from our passing game, or Henne. He simply needs more to work with at WR and even TE for that matter.
I think Bowe would flourish on this team and with Henne throwing to him. To me, the upgrade Bowe is over Ginn was not only worth a steep price but would have been well worth it to fill a huge hole with a pretty damn good, young player.Eop05 likes this.
