How are things gang? I know it has been a while since I have visited this site and I do truly apologize for that... I have had a rough couple of years that has had me consumed. However, this will all soon be over within the next 2 months. It will be questionable if I will actually be ready to play in a game but I am ready to bring this team together again and venture forth in planning an event this year.
As such, I am giving everyone notice that I will be actively pursuing a game this year that will be in the mid-west or on the west coast. Where we go will be up to all of you as my funds will be a bit tight and I will not be able to contribute as much to the gathering as I have in the past. I give EVERYONE my word that I will do the best to give as much as I can and be sure that we are represented well on the field and off.
The first step of this process, of course, is getting people to commit as early as possible. I still have all the stats from everyone that was a part of this team in the past but I would like everyone that wants to play to re-submit their data. Also, for everyone that plans to play, please start saving your money NOW!!! We have at least 6 months before we would be traveling so plan accordingly. Initially, if everyone could plan to commit to a minimum of $350.00, I am sure that I could get airfare, hotel, team jerseys and game tickets for everyone.
Now this doesn't mean that people within a 1 - 6 hour drive is going to fly. Also, some of the money that you contribute will help other team mates from further away get there. However, you have to stop and think about what it would cost you to get a hotel room for the weekend and tickets to the game if you went at it alone...
The past events ranged in cost from $5000.00 to $9,000.00. The last game, the JETS fans backed out on us, being the most expensive. We had 16 members/players that participated in that weekend in Jersey. That equated to approximately $560.00 per person on average. We raised $2500.00 through the site and $100.00 given per person. I sponsored the rest… Not complaining about it but just needed to let you know that it costs a bit to put this type of event together and the need for EVERYONE to plan for it now…
Ideas for raising funds are also good. If you can find a sponsor, that would be GREAT! I, of course, will be working the sponsorship and other avenues of fund raising over the next 6 months as well to try and minimize the cost for everyone.
Now for the necessities. Please go to the sticky in this forum and follow the directions there… If you do not follow those directions, your submission will be rejected. I am going to limit the roster to 20 members for the time being to develop a starting line up for offense and defense with a few to spell both sides. However, I will open it up again once we determine where we will be playing at this year.

I have suggested Cinncy as the game as it is in the midwest so guys like me and 'E' could drive no problem. Also I have a guarunteed game setup with guys I play with every saturday anyway.
If Cinncy isnt the desired place, u can still count in the best route runner in the history of 5''8 chubby guys who went to Brookhaven high school and once had a three way with a white AND a black chick.

It would be great to get some sponsors to help out to really lower the costs, we all need to put our heads together on that idea.
Looking at games on the west coast...only one is the raydahs. Ravens,Packers,Viqueens would be cool too. That Raider game would be a rough crowd though. Never hear great stuff from oponents fans after that one...not to mention not the best area. And depending on when they are played, that Packer game could be freezing! Viks at least play in a comfy 77 degree dome. The Ravens could be really good this year with Flacco, Rice, and Boldin. That team will be fun to watch this year. And FinO already spoke about Cincy. Who knows.
As for fundraising/sponsor ideas, I am thinking...the Miami Herald, or Sun-Sentinal. The latter is more likely. They could even write a good article/column out of it in the paper afterwards with all of our stories from the game we play, the actual game, and the stories from the trip itself. I would read that. And Boomer, CK, Con all have their Hyde source and are already in with them. So many people love what our thephins guy's are writing for them (viewership has to be up after reading all of the positive feedback in their comments sections after the articles), throwing some coin our way to help the cause would be nice (most likely a tax write-off as well). And it would be promoting their newspaper also...with good community karma. Hyde could even write the article.

A midwest game would be awesome, but it's understandable if people want to go to the West Coast. The Mall of America would be a pretty good experience for people... just to you know, get you guys to wind up in Minnesota lol.

Hell, count me in for anywhere. But I can probably save us some room our here on the west coast for rooms, etc.
Plus, I spoke to a coupld of my friends who are restaruant managers about the possibility of friends coming out for a sports weekend and reservations for a private area are easily taken care of.

Well I will definitely be at the RAVENS game as I am only 50 miles from their stadium... I will definitely be doing a tailgate with the other FINFANS in the area...
However, I think we should definitely consider the mid-west or west cost for this next trip so that us eastern boys can go out an learn them on technique and such!:yes::knucks:
