New uniforms, big free agency splashes, and finally a franchise QB. This was the most momentum and excitement going into a Dolphins season in at least a decade. It pisses me off that a majority of that momentum is now deflated and we are all left here wondering whether or not we will have a team in south florida in a few years. Times like these are why it is hard to really love the NFL.

Just give it a year, it will be fine. Fins will still be in Miami. I'm betting it comes up to vote next session. The dumbass in Tallahassee made his political point. NFL wants a team in Miami, wants superbowls in Miami. we'll probably miss the superbowl to SanFran, but they'll get one soon.

I wouldn't care about the renovation issue if there wasn't a threat of the team moving eventually. All though, that could be their way of putting pressure on the city. I hope so.
Even so, I'm extremely excited for this season. Young team, up and coming QB, gorgeous new logo and uniforms. I can't wait until camp opens. -

Relax guys, we aren't going anywhere. All this talk is propaganda for the league and politicians.
My guess is Ross will fund minor improvements and push a similar deal next year. -
I hope so man. If this team leaves part of my heart is gone. 305 till I die!!

Got depressed because no new stadium?

Eh, I shall never let politics get in the way of my Dolphins.
Dee acted like an imbecile, but he's just the sort of marketing guy anyway, Wallace will still be running 9 routes, Dion Jordan will have a great rookie season etc.MikeHoncho likes this. -
“He’s got frightening athletic skills, and he’s a year away,” Mayock said at the combine. “He would be a situational pass-rusher Year One, and if he puts 20 pounds on, I think he’s going to be a perennial All-Pro.”
Says Aliotti: “The sky’s the limit, just because of his make-up. A lot of good athletes don’t have the right attitude, but he’s got it all.”
Same name is me and my son, the leo position, me and my son are Leo's lol....the Mantis will fly..
Defense is gonna be bad *** this year, screw the offense..defense gets me excited.Fin-Omenal likes this. -

I thought he chose his words poorly with that "bleak future" remark. I understand and share his frustration with what happened. And i also understand in the heat of the moment he said something he probably now realizes he should have worded differently.
Everyone however should be seriously upset at what transpired. If not for the Dolphins or the deal, at least for the fact that someone following their own agenda completely took your right to vote for or against this. -
Because the Marlins were in Sun Life, the Dolphins were not able to pursue renovations that could have been done years ago, and then when they did leave, the County now doesn't have the money to make a deal and the Dolphins were forced to go the bed-tax increase route. Because they had to do this, it put the whole project in the hands of people who frankly, couldn't give a crap about South Fla (Weatherford).
So had the Marlins actually left, and relocated themselves, this issue would have been resolved years ago. So if there is someone to really blame, blame Jeffery Loria.Da 'Fins and Rocky Raccoon like this. -

Unless Ross just keels over tomorrow... the Fins are going to be here a LONG time. It sucks that it didn't go through, but its not like we are under the gun here either.
I'm very excited. Just watch a Dion Jordan highlight video and that should put you back in the mood... lol -

Well, this is one of the upsides to drafting Tannehill, if he fails in 2013 then adios Jeff Ireland, if he succeeds then Ireland made the right call.
Which will mean a new broom sweeping clean in Davie.
And tbh, I'm excited by that as well, no more "not Ireland's fault, it was Parcells!", I do feel Ireland has made changes in the way he does business, but he has to produce results this year. -

I am now starting to suspect something at least a little sinister. He's a real estate man, and speculated on the Dolphins and seems to have lost and now is looking to sell and get out as soon as possible.
I hate to sound so jaded but this news tonight that he's thinking of selling really shows me this was nothing more than a ploy to get the stadium improved and then sell high, and backload the repayment so that it falls on the sucker he gets to buy the team next. It's not really all that different than what Loria is going to pull when he sells the team (hopefully by 2015 when he doesn't have to pay a profit penalty). -
As for Ross, a NFL team is a money maker, no question about it, if he sells it is to turn a profit.
Besides the team really cannot move w/o a massive upfront payment for the stadium as we are one of the few teams who own the stadium outright. -
You have to start to wonder, all this, selling talk - it just makes Ross look bad, and more like his intent was never to make the Dolphins into a winner, but just bide his time until he could get the stadium improved and then sell.......if this is the case, then it's pretty disgusting from a fans standpoint. IOW these whole 5 years have been a huge lie.
