well Like most of us this evening I'm dissapointed with what Miami has done so far. Then it hit me, perhaps the trading of Marshall for 2 third round picks is ammo for us to move up a few slots and get Blackmon and start over with a new Younger version of Marshall. It you think about it, it does make some sense here is why.
1. We traded a top 6 WR
2. We have Winston coming for a visit and he takes care of the RT spot we could draft.
There isn't a lot of other scenarios in which to get excited so hopefully there is a silver lining.

and Winston has a lot of other teams to go visit.
Edit: On a seperate note, I really hope WR Moore gets some more field time. -
Who would we trade with? Cleveland? Tampa?
-
I CANT DO IT.

Edit: I'm trying to get ahold of a pretty up-to-date and intelligent Bucs fan friend of mine to see what he thinks about all this especially after vjaxx -
With Tampa getting VJax I can see them trading back and thinking about taking Claiborne or maybe even Richardson. We would clearly have to get ahead of the Rams at least. Cleveland is a mystery a little bit until they get QB situated. They can easily go with Blackmon, but also could easily go defense.
I would be happy to get Blackmon, think he will be a stud in the NFL and it would lessen the sting of Marshall leaving, and may indicate we have some sort of actual plan.BlameItOnTheHenne likes this. -

I saw the movie. He DECAPITATED him.
get YOUR facts straight.
Edit: Oh dear he thought this was serious.... -
So it's a tall order to be even close before he steps on the field.
No reason to sell Blackmon short.
It is really a tough comparison. -
Theres only one transformer... Megatron!!! I think Blackmon will be gone but Floyd is a Beast.

1. Sign Winston (lock up both OT's for next 5 yrs).
2. Sign Flynn (decent QB competition).
3. Put team in position to draft good WR (perhaps 2) and other need positions.
I like that. -

Blackmon is the best receiver by far and deserves to be picked at #3...Send the picks to Minnesota or drop and take Alshon.
-
If we sign Flynn I really wouldn't mind trading up to get Blackmon but I just doubt it happens. -

What red-flagged me about Blackmon - though his college productivity was massive - was his size. At the Combine he measured 6'1, 207; a week later he barely runs under 4.5. That would be fine if he were, as listed in college, in the 6'3, 220+ range. I have to wonder if he will be as dominant in the pros without a big size/speed advantage. Megatron went 6'5, 236 and ran a 4.35 40! Those #'s are off the charts. He makes Blackmon look like a smurf.
I'd rather wait for Floyd (even trade down a slot or two); Floyd is a stellar blocker, runs as fast as Blackmon, and has serious size (6'3, 220). That's not all to receiving (not by a mile); but Floyd also has shown good hands, makes big catches and runs solid routes. If he's healthy, he has some potential.
I also have a feeling Blackmon will fall a bit given his ht/wt/speed measurables. Some will always say, "look at the kid play" - I've heard that too many times. Not saying he may not be a very good WR but I don't think he's a sure bet.
