Thoughts for my dad...

Scotty, my prayers have been sent and we all hope your dad has a successful surgery and a quick rehab and is back in full force and be around you for years to come...

He had his operation this morning and is now back in ICU as planned for 24/48 hours to make sure everything is in working order. So far everything going to plan.

Thanks once again for your kind thoughts and prayers , it is really appreciated that people who do not know me or my family IRL are thinking of us at this time. If i ever make it anywhere near where any of you guys stay I will be buying you beers.

Good to hear that everything is going well after the surgery, you have my continued thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Keep us updated.

Just back from seeing him today. Was up earlier this afternoon and he wasnt good , was still very heavily drugged and didnt recognise myself or my mum. Wasnt too good after that visit and had to go away do something for a while.

Went back up tonight and he is much better , trying to get out hsi bed so he can go for a walk and trying to laugh when we told him his m8s bowls team had lost as he wasnt in the team :)

Once again , thank you from everyone in my family for your thoughts and prayers. It really is comforting at this time :D Even told him I have people all over the world wishing him well and he smiled , probably also thought I was a bit insane too :D

Day by Day Scotty. Glad things are looking up this evening. Lots of prayers including mine coming you and your Dad's way.

Each visit for the next few days will be a seperate adventure. Best wishes and my continued prayers.

Sorry for no updates in a while , he was really ill last weekend and although wasnt in any serious danger it was a long hard few days for the family. This week the difference has been amazing , from the depths of despair to the highs of getting him home just over an hour ago.

Still in a lot of pain , difficulties sleeping due to the chest wound that he has but he will get there eventually.

Once again I cannot that you enough for your kind thoughts and prayers. Will let you all know when he is better. May even try to get him to post on here :D

Still thinks in as mad as a box of frogs for all this "computer nonsense" but it gave him a laugh when I said people all over the world are thinking of you.

So glad he's home now.
My thoughts and prayers continue for a speedy and full recovery.

Well its not been a good few days. Up till last Friday he was doing really well , getting out for walks and looking nearly back to his old self. They stopped a couple of tablets and he went downhill very quickly and is now back in hospital :(

He has an infection in his lungs and fluid near his heart which hasnt helped with his breathing.

Thankfully he is doing much better today since they gave him some antibiotics and drained the fluid off so we should get him back out the hospital later in the week.

Well more good news :D Seems every time I post when im feeling down the old bugger goes and makes a huge step forward :D

They drained over 3 litres of fluid from his chest cavity tonight , no wonder he was struggling really badly and already he is looking a lot better.

Should get him home for Thursday or Friday when spend the few days after that watching then Open golf all day as planned :D

3 liters is nothing for a Scottish brother. I've seen 'em drink that much beer in a single swallow!

If it helps, my experiance is that some seeming setbacks are normal as medications get adjusted and healing progresses. My prayers contiue.

Since I was passing thought id give this one final update and thanks. He is doing great he has lost nearly 2 stone in weight and is attending his rehab classes twice a week.

The difference in 8 weeks is remarkable :D

Thanks once again to everyone who sent PMs and posted on here , your kinds thoughts and prayers really helped me and my family get through this :D Beers or whatever are on me when I finally make it over for a game hopefully next season
