4) QB Pat Devlin, Delaware (6-2, 238)
Devlin’s stock was in the mid-round area heading into the pre-draft process, but he never seemed to make an impression on anyone in March and April.
He does look the part, though.
5) RB Derrick Locke, Kansas (5-8, 188)
Smallish back with a weak lower body, but has the speed to compete in a speed-dominated league.
(Editor’s note: he was drafted by the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL)
6) WR Dane Sanzenbacher, Ohio St (5-11, 182)
Sanzenbacher just looks like a guy who will work his way onto an NFL roster.
He has great
hands, understands route running, and was very productive at OSU with 55 catches for 948 yards and 11 TDs in his senior season.
7) WR Ricardo Lockette, Fort Valley St (6-2, 207)
Lockette is a track star who seemed to jump into the mid-to-late round discussions after running a 4.34/40 at the combine.
He only had 23 catches for 262 yards last year, but it’s surprising that he wasn’t taken in the 6th or 7th in a draft with so few speedy WRs.
8)
C Ryan Bartholomew, Syracuse (6-1, 302)
He’s undersized, but only by an inch and a couple of cheeseburgers.
He was a good, but not great, player at Syracuse who shined at the combine by running a 4.97/40 with 34 bench reps.
9) FB Henry Hynoski, Pittsburgh (6-2, 257)
Classic ‘90’s blocking FB in the Sam Gash mold.
He probably would’ve been a mid-round pick 15 years ago when every team used FBs.
