I think we could maybe work out some kind of a trade with the San Diego Chargers. Hear me out:
If San Diego gave Darren Sproles the franchise tag, they would be required to pay him almost $7.3 million, a price the team is apparently unwilling to pay for a player they view as a kick returner and backup running back. What this means is that Sproles will likely hit the open market.....
So going into 2010, the Chargers could be without LT and Sproles and in desperate need of a RB. We have the 12th overall pick and the Chargers would certainly love to have a guy like CJ Spiller. There is word that Antonio Cromartie is not happy with how the Charger's defense is being run.....so maybe we offer the Chargers our 12th pick for Cromartie and possibly a Charger's 3rd or 4th round pick? Cromartie could move to CB and maybe move Vontae Davis to Safety. We would have a killer defensive backfield. Then we go with the best LB in round two.
The Chargers also have a very good WR in Vincent Jackson and he may want a change of scenery after his DUI and problems in San Diego. I think the Chargers have some players we can use and they would be a team we could deal with.

I would not trade #12 for just Cromartie and a 3rd. No way.

Hypothetical Question.
If you put Ginn against Cromartie in the open field. Which player dives to the ground first?

I'd take their 27th and Cromartie for a 3rd rounder ;)

OK here is Exhibit B.....I doubt Ed Reed could have stopped that Jet RB from that angle....he was already past Cromartie.

Vontae Davis shows the most promise we've seen at corner since the halcyon days of Madison and Surtain, and you want to move him to safety?
I reject this idea.Puka-head, dolfan7171, Frumundah Finnatic and 3 others like this. -

For Cromartie, Merrman and a #2....:shifty:
They've fallen out of love with Cromartie, Merriman may well be 100% for 2010, and we need draft picks as well. -
After considering and posting the same thing the other day, 10 minutes later I came back and said forget it. He has had only 1 good year and there was more than 1 play like that in the Jets game. PLUS the guy has tons of baggage too.
No Thanks, I'll pass. -
I could see the Dolphins considering trading a second for Vincent Jackson. He wouldn't be my first choice, but I understand the Dolphins like him. I wouldn't expect them to be interested in trading picks for Cromartie.

It may be just me but.........
After Donte Stallworth killed a man in SOUTH FLORIDA while driving under the influence, the very LAST thing a billionaire will do is bring a player with past experience DUI. It's a publicity nightmare waiting to happen.
"The fact that you would bring a drunk driver to your team says that you are the New York City rich guy who doesn't care about this community."
I don't see it happening. Donte Stallworth has practically written it in cement. -

Two fast guys afraid of a hit? I know its the Pro Bowl but did he dodge Tony Romo? Can I see the Antonio Cromartie Big Hit video package next?

I just think that San Diego would probably be the most ideal team to work out a deal with givin their needs for a RB, and looking at our draft position compared to theirs.....we also have dealt with them in the past like with the Chamber's deal. I don't think that we necessarily have to go after Jackson or Cromartie, but they have a lot of talent on the Chargers if they want to talk trade with us. We know Norv Turner and their GM (AJ Smith) pretty well.

This front office was not involved in the chambers deal.

While we're looking at CBs afraid of contact, lets give Sam Madison a ring.

Jackson, yes, perhaps. -
