So I've decided that I wanted to see how good of a poster I am on the boards. Now most people look at "thank you's" or rep to make said determination. I don't think it's an accurate evaluation of the quality of posts delivered. Even Gish has 10,000+ posts... Does it mean they're worth reading?? Probably not.
I decided to use "Thank you's" as my medium. Why? Because they're easy to deliver. So if you didn't get one, you didn't deserve it.
At the time of this post, I have a 2211 post count (including this post). I also have 1072 "Thank You's". So If I find the average percentile of TY's per post, I should be able to assign a numerical quality to a member.
Math: (T/P)*100 (where T = Thank You's and P = Posts)
That gives me a quality score of 48.1%. This means 48.1% of my posts are worth a damn (on average of course). and 51.9% are completely useless.
Here's some other averages:
SethDaddy8 - 36.2%
section441 - 107.9%
azfinfanmang - 28.9%
opfinistic - 43.5%
Those were random members picked. Section441 is high because his thanks outweighs his posts. Cool huh?

Everyone knows that opfinistic is the best poster. The April PhinFools Tournament will prove that. Vote Opie!

First things first:
Pretty sure section411 is a she
Second: I have a feeling that Pagan's count is gonna be pretty high -
Wouldn't a better measure to take "posts thanked" by "total posts"?
Now ... I'm no expert, but I think this would give you what you're looking for ... number of quality posts vs. number of worthless posts.
EDIT:
So in Mor's system my Quality Average is 47.84%, but under my formula it's only 19.60% ... -

Thanks for saving me a math problem bro. -

ouch..I'm only in the low 30s? I need to step my game up, of course I rarely post as you can see by my count, lol. Although I've surpassed my total from the "other board" and I was there since Jan 04.
If you thank me and help up my pct, you get my vote in tourney...lol.Rocky Raccoon likes this. -

I would say Mor's formula is a Gratitude Quotient (GQ) while Odin's is a Value Post Factor (VPF).
EDIT: My GQ = 83.8%; My VPF = 36.0%TokyoFishFan, mor911, opfinistic and 1 other person like this. -

CK's GQ = 92.6%
CK's VPF = 31.1%
Average Thanks = 3.0x
I like looking at the average thanks per thanked post. Ya don't always have to write something that'll be thanked, but when ya decide to write something valuable, how valuable do other folks find it to be?
And it's quite possibly the only measure that will see anyone over a certain number of posts beating Pagan.
Boomer's GQ: 105.0%
Boomer's VPF: 24.1%
Average Thanks: 4.4x -
My TPTP = 2.3.
CK and Boomer are pwning me. Shock. -
