Is there a virus or a spam program running on thephins.com. Twice today, once at home and once at work, while i was on the site it forwarded me to another site about a virus on my computer that i had a heck of time getting out of. Just wondering if it is happening to anyone else.
thanks

I had a virus warning about 2 hr ago......disregarded it (meaning didnt follow the link to download anything - thats a no no in my book), but I did use the SYSTEM RESTORE program option built into my XP OS (IE browser), and went back a week in time, it rebooted, then ran my virus software scan, said all is good and I am back up....but yes, definately something fishy going on.
Not sure what the site has for protection, but would think they are aware of this type of attack. -
Sorry about that. I will forward this to the owners. If you can get any important information from what it is exactly saying and during what process, that would be greatly appreciated.

I too had this earlier ... crashed my browser ... I rebooted and things seemed to be okay but I saw it as well. If I get it again I'll screenshot it.

Question: What browser do you all use?
-
Same with me guys.
My son is coming to check it out.
It took forever for me to get it off the screen too. -
I use firefox and have had no problems. I have left messages with Muck, and Celtkin in regards to this.:wink2:
-
I have also had the issue happening. Was coming on here to start a thread actually.
The same thing happened on Finheaven that made me transfer over to here. Certainly like this place better. There I had to restore my computer, this one seems less malicious that closing out the browser does away with it. Don't want to have to abandon another message board.
I believe the problem is within the ads on the site. This may be why you are not experiencing this Cali. Seeing you do not see them as a premium member.
I would gladly accept a membership for disclosing this very important information :knucks:
PS: Always using Mozilla and will also screenshot it.Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -

Again we sincerely apologize for this to all of the family. We are aware of it, and will be working to get it corrected. This is something we will not tolerate from our advertisers. Both Celtkin, and Muck are aware of the situation, and will work diligently to get it resolved. We don't want to lose any members due to this issue. We appreciate all of our wonderful family here. :wink2:

I was using firefox and got hit, just terminated the exe and it went away. The ad rotation here always sets off my kaspersky like the 4th of july.

I absolutely do not plan to leave, you guys have been great. Seeing of how quickly this is getting resolved and turned around you probably just gained yourself another premium member.

Thanks bro, we appreciate it.:hi5: -
I just got the same thing as the rest of you. I got a pop up about free anti virus scan so I just closed out my browser and did a quick scan from my antivirus.

If you're getting hit with anything questionable this morning, you may have to clear your cache.
We removed the questionable streams late last night after this latest flareup. So we should be ok.JimToss likes this. -

I see often that my pop up blocker prevented a pop up on this site. I always think wtf would there be any legit pop ups here anyway?
A couple of mornings ago, I woke up after forgetting to close my browser before going to bed. There was a message from my anti virus, I use "iolo", saying they removed a virus and it was this site that I'd left my browser open to. The only thing weird was I needed to reenter my user name and password, and log in again. Usually this is saved unless I run that CCleaner program. -
avast is blocking access to malicious site ad.yieldmanager.com when i log on here
20 hits every time i switch pages
it is only happening at this site
for those who dont have antivirus up to date you are getting hit with a virus -
It hit me on google chrome. Norton grabbed it and asked if i wanted to let it open i denied it and ran a scan. alls good here.
