That's all well and good, but I'm not going to care until it's on the market at an affordable price (< 20K).
It'll probably be even more unaffordable than Chevy's Volt... -
That thing looks like a kid on a Big Wheel could cause it damage. How safe is that going to be on a highway?

it's ugly as sin... but at 240mpg who cares. If they can make it affordable, it's a mega win

Anywho, it was amusing to me how th brake lights danced all over the damn place.
I finally passed her only to see her headlights bouncing around just as much, almost like they were mounted on springs.
Don't know what happened, VW engineers used to be some of the very best in the world :pity: -

As I dwelved deeper into the car, the entire nose and tail clips are made of very very pliable plastic. Not even fiberglass but plastic.
Only a matter of time till fasteners start pulling right through that stuff :pity:adamprez2003 likes this. -
 Guys, the article is short.
This is not the final design; it is a two-seater, inline - driver in front, passenger in back. It isn't the way it'll come to market
So when it's put into production, it will have a more familiar, consumer-friendly configuration. -

240MPG is all good and well but they don't even mention the most important criteria in any serious car purchase. How many cup holders and will at least 1 of the cup holders handle a super slurpee??? And even worse they are completely ignoring the psycho killer demographic. You'd have a hard time getting a body in that trunk.
Side note it is interesting about the enclosed back wheels. Seems like that would reduce drag but would be a pain in the butt around speed bumps.NaboCane likes this. -
