Was going to be trying it, prolly pick it up this weekend.

 

Thought the beta was a real disappointment. I might pick it up and give it another try though.

 

I played beta and I enjoyed it. I really like the fact that questing is ridiculously easy, more easy that WoW. I also liked the fact that I was able to earn exp points while doing RvR repeatable quest. The only thing I didn't like were the spells and re-leveling all over again. I come from a high end WoW raiding guild. I did pre-order War but plan to trade it with a friend of mine. Call me old fashion and being a WoW addict that tries his hardest to break the addiction but gives in to sin. I will be playing WotLK instead of War.

All I have to say is wholly cow this game is good. This coming from someone who played WoW for over 2 yrs and did high end PvE. It has a ton of new ideas that are going to be common in MMO's to come. The Public Quest system is really neat (basically an area where you do stages of quests and get influence points to get rewards). The Realm v Realm stuff is going to be huge, the way they set each zone up for for world PvP and instances is really neat. All in all I'm extremely impressed, played most of the weekend and already up to lvl 15. Another cool thing is the guild ranking and how the guild kinda ranks up based on what its members do in PvP and PvE as well. I'm sitting at work and can't wait to get home to play some more.

Its usually the other way around in games with good/bad for the most part. In WoW horde usually was always outnumbered by alliance. I know in EQ dark classes weren't played nearly as often as good class. There seems to be a far balance so far that I have noticed, but on my server the Order guys suck arse in PvP, my guild has been running over people in scenarios 500 to 30-40 points or so.

hmmm, I've always enjoyed MMO games like WoW, but could never justify the monthy expense since I never had a routine to play, therefore never really got in any guilds or groups. Is this a game you can play casually? or do you need to play with the same group over and over to get anything out of it.

Scenario is an instanced goal based pvp. In RvR it refers more so to the taking of keeps and battlefield objectives in the open world.

who all is playing? this game is ALOT better than conan...

it's so fun if you make a new character, lvl 1 you can go and pvp and stuff as your lvl gets raised to 8 for example so your stats are buffed.

what a fun and fresh twist on pvp....the engineer class is great

 

I'm up to lvl 25 as a Chosen. I absolute love tanking right now, so much fun. We did Gunbad (3 wings, we've done 2 of them) this weekend and last night in my guild. Kind nice doing 3 PQ's along the way to instance with boss in it that drops set pieces. Also the bosses along the drop some kick arse loot. I'm having a blast and the PvP is fun as well. They found a very good mix between PvE and PvP. I'm on Bertonia if anyone wants to join up over there, got a good guild and we do lots of stuff together.

 

all i can do is gush about how much fun i am having with this game. i know i sound already like a fanboy or w/e but it is a blast.

there is alot of diff things to do ....you can open rvr, do pve quests, Public Quests (which i think are phenomenal), queue for scenarios...just feels like you are always gaining some kind of xp, renown, or influence for your gear...


gunbad is like an instance? how big can groups/warbands get and how long did it take to run that gunbad place?

 

Gunbad is an Instance for Destruction side. Its in the badlands, if you did quests there you've prolly gotten quest to go there. Inside the instance there are 3 wings, each wing has 3 PQ's. At the end of each wing is another mini instance with one boss that is only groupable. So for each wing you can bring as many down in warband as you'd like, then break up into groups to kill last boss for set pieces. The loot in there is amazing as well.

Takes about an hour for each wing for the 3 pq's maybe less if you done it before and know the pulls.

 

Anyone got a decent guild on a core server. I'm thinking of re-rolling on another server as the one I'm on is constantly low pops and I can't seem to find a guild for the life of me.

 

We've got a pretty good guild going on bertonia destruction side. We've been doing a few of the instances as you've seen me describe, and we try to pvp alot as well. Your welcome to roll and I can get ya invite if you'd like.

 

Kinda looking order side. Seems everybody wants to be the big bad evil. Someone's gotta fight on the side of 'good' :lol:

Plus I'm kinda digging the Warrior Priest at the moment.

 

me and 4 of my "e-friends" just got into a guild on Sea of Claws. I can't guarantee you a spot, but they are taking all classes. I could certainly try to help you get in though.

2 best things so far -

- public quests...these are great and totally original...you just run up and see people and group up seamlessly, and the loot gets really good

- open rvr....warbands that can get as big as 24 form up and take down castle keeps...using siege weapons and zerging...the battering ram to break down the door, canons, hot metal you can pour down on people trying to break in...etc

So I just hit 31 the other day and have started doing some of the PQ's in the T4 zones. I must say OMG!!!! They are really cool and lots of voice overs, we did one in the chaos wastes that had 8 stages, granted some were a little short, but they were cool as hell.

I have found in my life is that buying a better POS graphics card always helps. Still I don't know.

 

Wait till you find the Disciple's of Morr (extra r, but nothing photoshop can't fix). I'm 39 now and will prolly hit 40 tonight. Teir 4 scenarios and RvR are starting to pick up, so will be fun for sure. On Bertonnia if anyone wants to join. In a good guild, were second on server in guild rank, but pretty small compared to other guilds.

 

I have a core 2 Duo 3GB ram laptop with a POS video card on it and it will NOT run warhammer. My laptop is from this year.
