Tua would have probably shattered a clavicle trying to do that.:headwall:

Herbert will too... if he keeps doing that ****. What an idiot. Get out of bounds. Your job is to distribute the ball, not get hurt. Not a slight against his play overall though. To date, he's been better than tua.

I like how you tried to make this poor decision by a young quarterback a slight on Tua.
That's probably the dumbest thing a quarterback can do. Luckily he didn't get hurt bad.KeyFin and Silverphin like this. -
This is just an example of Herbert's durability and toughness in comparison to Tua, who would have probably been carted out if he took a hit like that. -
...That was not a good decision. At all.

Yeah, I think that’s I’ll advised. I could maybe understand if it was the super bowl but that seems like a stupid move in a regular season game. You’re no good to your team if you’re hurt and those defenders are chomping at the bit for any change to actually hit a QB in today’s NFL. Those things add up and no reason to take them.

True story- early in Marino's career he'd occasionally get the itch to try to run someone over, and Shula would scream at him for it on the sidelines. In his following contract, it stated that he would be fined every time he tried to run the football if it wasn't a designed play. It's not about toughness....it's about being smart and staying healthy.resnor, Unlucky 13, mlb1399 and 2 others like this. -
I want Grier fired as soon as possible. We are never going to get anywhere with him at the helm and the sooner he is gone the better. We need a GM with a proven ability to evaluate talent.Last edited: Oct 9, 2021 -
Dudes, he was going for the first down.
He most likely wanted to get out right there. You don’t want to see that all the time, but when it happens, it is sure as hell a lot better when your QB can take the hit and certainly give it and walk away while the defender is on the ground. How anyone can’t see that as impressive is beyond me. Yes, our boy would have been carted off with poop in his pants. -

It certainly should make the team feel more comfortable for when he gets sacked that he is not going to get hurt. The point is that he is a strong, tough SOB who really wants to win. He’s smart and it will not happen all the time. That’s not a big part of his game.Last edited: Oct 9, 2021resnor likes this. -

i like the head line "Chargers GM tells why they picked Herbert" Duh.. because the 49rs and Dolphins were dumb enough to pass on him.

I have also been saying for awhile that it was just such a collosal mistake passing on Herbert for Tua and how that kind of mistake can set a franchise back for many many years. I still feel that way. I am still extremely pissed about that move. I mean, with the partial exception of Pennington and Tanne , just look at the long list of the past shmos the Phins have had at QB since Marino. Well, that long hellish stretch could have been over in that draft, but......we passed and took Tua and look how things are going. It just really sucks. I'll still root for him if he starts taking snaps again, but I will always be bummed about that move and unless we get lucky somewhere along the way, which is possible, we will still be wallowing in this muck for a long time. However, right now, super super bummed. I mean, look how things are going. Ahhhh!
Just imagine the day when we all don't have to constantly argue and debate and be so divided over our QB situation. Wow. I mean, there will always plenty of stuff for us to argue and debate about and that's cool, but man, not the QB. Please. It's been too long. Give us a break. :laughy:
With that said, I think it should be Sinnett time! Wth else have we got to lose? Hey, we may just get "lucky". Maybe? You think?Last edited: Oct 9, 2021 -

Look, I am extremely pissed at Grier. We lost out on our next Marino because of this idiot. Every time I see Herbert playing like that it reminds me of Marino, and what we are now missing out on because of Grier's incompetence.
We've spent 21 years looking for someone to replace Marino. We had him in our laps, and completely missed our opportunity. Let's just hope we don't have to wait another 20 years for our next chance at a HOF QB. -
Oh my god, go be a Chargers fan so you can slobber all over him in peace.
-
Good for you. -
Whether you like it or not is another thing. I was not taking a dig at Tua, I have nothing against tua, it's not his fault he is injury prone. My problem is with Grier. I want to see him out of Miami ASAP.Last edited: Oct 10, 2021 -

Carson Wentz's career went in the dumpster after taking a hit like that and wrecking his knee. Never been the same.
Then I saw Mahomes take a similar hit week 1 and was totally fine.
This thread is dumb and a pointless speculation hit piece.Silverphin likes this. -
So, Daniel Jones is a big guy and he went for the extra yard today and basically got knocked unconscious costing the Giants a chance at the game and probably ending their season.
I'm sure Joe Judge was singing his praises in the locker room for having balls.
