i saw him go down in a pile with 6 or 8 minutes left, it was down towards the bills' goal line about the 10 yard line. i saw him on the ground and in an awkward position, did not see him back in the game again. anyone else see this play or know if he came back in???

Looked like his foot locked in the ground and players fell on him. Hopefully he is okay.

They just mentioned on WQAM that he may be a casualty in today's win but they did not go into details....

According to Omar...serious foot injury...we can't lose someone else for the year:no:

Well after 15 years Bettman lets hockey come back to Winnipeg. Thanks for wasting 15 years

Hmmm. Didn't see it at all. But one reason he didn't return may have been 'cause they didn't need him and didn't want to risk any further damage. At least I hope that's the case.

At least he's walking around on it, fingers crossed that it's just something minor

It looks quite serious but Merling said it is not.

"It looks worse than it is," Merling told The Herald's David J. Neal.

Phillip Merling's status uncertain for Dolphins-Jets game
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-phillip-merling-dolphins-injury-s100509,0,5588916.story?track=rss

X-rays came back negative, according to a source, meaning his ankle is not broken and likely was sprained. He was wearing the black boot on his left leg in the team’s locker room on Monday, but he did not speak to the press. The Dolphins do not comment on injuries, but a source with knowledge of Merling’s injury said it was “nothing serious. Just a precaution.”

Great news!

I was expecting the worst. If his status is "uncertain" that is much better than "out with a broken foot". I'll take it!

Tanking is like taking a Greyhound bus cross-country. Sure, it may eventually get you where you want to go, but it’s messy and unpleasant and uncomfortable, it stinks, the entire time you’ll be wishing you weren’t there, and not everybody along for the ride is going to make it to the end. - Quote stolen from Deadspin

Merling's a gamer, he'll get that ankle shot up and be in there.

It's the gift that keeps on giving.
