Alot of the media ripped Riley a new one for taking over when "apparently" Gundy was doing so well in Miami. But the players, almost none of them said anything about it, now you know why. :wink2:

Well when Riley was coaching the refs were certainly more in the Heats favor.....:shifty:
-
I love how Dwight Howard rolls his eyes and makes "whatever" type gestures whenever ESPN / TNT / ABC has Fat Stan mic'ed up and shows him during a timeout.
If your superstar doesn't approve of the coach... how the hell does he still have a job? -

Bulll****.
when you attack the basket...they either foul or they get dunked on.
go back and look at those games.
this is a case of buying into the bull**** from whiney Mavs fans. -
talk about fail.....
that season you loved so much from the "GREAT" Stan Van Gundy...ended on our home floor in a game 6 with Dwyane Wade on the bench down the stretch.
it wasn;t just game 7 of the ECF's....
Stan Van Gundy was ALWAYS a total disaster. Incompetent to no end.

Wade attacked the basket and got knocked around more than any player in the history of the league during that six game span.
THE GREATEST INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE IN NBA FINALS HISTORY.
And the ONLY credible basketball mind on ESPN will co-sign: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playo...nist=hollinger_john&page=FinalsPerformances-1Section126, Big E and #1 fan like this. -
And I liked the DWade/Shaq Heat, but still, I barely can watch the NBA anymore...to me they ruined it by taking the physical play out of the game in favor of "Movement and Beauty"...
Put it this way, the NBA had a crooked Ref, and no one noticed all the calls he intentionally blew, bad reffing is sort of expected, he flew under the radar for years..
'nuff said. -

If Van Gundy were a better coach...even a league-average coach, the Magic would have eliminated the Celtics right now. If Michael Rappaport, er Brian Scalabrine, is covering Rashard Lewis, you give Lewis the ball until the Celtics figure out a way to stop it.

i've never seen a basketball player take over a series like that. not just a game, a whole series. the fact that people want to hate on his performance really boggles my mind. it was gorgeous to watch. you must hate basketball.Section126 likes this. -

to answer the thread title......Shaq can suck it. Who's still playing? Orlando. Buckle under pressure? Ha, they just came from down 3-2 and won on the road IN BOSTON!!!!!

We are traditionally screwed by the refs.
In our championship year we were victims of a rigged game in the Bulls series.....we then smashed the Nets, Pistons and Mavs. We were the clear cut better team in each series.
The infamous Donaghey gave us a paltry 1-7 record in games he reffed all the while we were 59-23 and 52-30 during those years he gave us a 1-7 record. DO THE MATH. -
Quit making excuses. We just beat the defending NBA Champions after being down 3-2. And don't give us that garbage about beating them without Garnett. It's a team sport and they couldn't pick up his slack enuff to get the job done. We are the better team end of story.late again likes this. -

In the last 22 regular season games played without Garnett, the Celtics were 15-7. That is the team that finished strong to secure the #2 seed. That is the team that beat a damn good Chicago squad in round one.
I didn't hear any of you making excuses for the Patriots when Miami stomped them in week 3 WITHOUT BRADY. So stop trying to belittle the Magic's victory over a tough as nails Celtic team.Phinz420, late again and Den54 like this.
