Even with the Jets' loss.
The Seahawks ALMOST did us a huge favor, but failed.
Here is the rest of the Patriots schedule:
@ Oakland
ARIZONA
@ Buffalo
They in all likelihood will win all these games. And if they do, and we lose at least one game, the division is theirs...
To be honest, the game that scares me the most is Kansas City because of the traveling west..

New England will lose to Arizona. I know Matt Cassell has come a long way but he won't beat Kurt Warner in a shootout. New England has reached the point of desperation with their defense. And collectively Boldin/Fitzgerald > Moss/Welker.
-
The thing is, the Cardinals just clinched their division.. Are they still playing for a two seed?

NO way the Patriots win all three of those, it just wont happen. They will crush Oakland next week then lay and egg against Arizona. That would be huge because that affords us a screw up in one of the next two games (one we would sorely need I fear).

I think NE will struggle @ Oakland. It's tough going across the country. They struggled against Seattle and you can just ask the Jets how hard it is.

the pats sure got an easy finish to their schedule... luck of the draw im sure...
I dont see NE really loosing any of those 3 games left.. Oakland is a joke... As we saw today Buffalo really isnt that good. Maybe if Edwards plays buffalo has a shot to beat them, and Arizona... has a chance to win, but that late in the year, with a playoff spot guaranteed... how much of a fight will they really put up? -
I have a better title for this thread. "Jets lose, Dolphins control own destiny."

I thought I was the only one; even sitting at 6-4 looking up at New England coming to town, for some reason, @KC is what I've feared the most from the get go. They're just one of those very bad teams that can easily flip the switch and put up a tough fight.
But yes. We control our own destiny. It's a wonderful feeling. I'd rather win the division straight up at 11-5, than 10-6 with help. -

Man its going to be tuff beating the jets ,I be there for that game so i really hope we win.

They play in New England and Arizona frankly sucks outside of a dome. No way the Patriots are losing this. Hate to say it but NE wins out. Gotta come down to us doing the same.Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -

Here's the thing about KC though, they've only gotten SIX sacks all year. We know Pennington can pick apart defense when he's got time. We just need to hope for good weather. I'm not saying it won't be hard, but that stat alleviated a little bit of my concern for that game.
-
Sure can. It's about us, not about them. Heck, for all I care, let them win out and miss the playoffs by going 11-5. I don't do math until week 17. We can do this by ourselves, so let's do this by ourselves.Fin Fan In Cali and PhinsFanWife like this. -
Indy will likely get one of the two WC spots.....that means we need the Ravens to fold, or the Steelers (it would have been nice if Dallas had beaten them today, but I hate Dallas so it's all good).
We just need to win the next three. -

Now, if Baltimore loses out, then we are afforded one loss and can get in, but that is assuming that New England also loses at least once, or they get in ahead of us too.
The point is, it is easier for us to win the division than to get the Wildcard. -
Yeah, i started doing math earlier today when i saw the Seahawks up...when they wet the ed at teh end I just decided we have to win out. That's the only way we're assured a playoff spot. It'll be really tough though. SF is playing very good ball right now, KC is much better than billed and it could be cold, and the Jets will obviously come to play.
At this point I'm being VERY cautious about getting excited. -
-
If we do win the division, we will likely be playing the Ravens at home.. That scares me... ALOT. But you know what that one mean... The potential for REVENGE on CAM CAMERON!
-
They'll all be better teams except maybe Denver. Who cares though? If we make the playoffs that's the ultimate victory for this team and a hell of a launching point for next year.
I don't see us winning in NY at all.
Any given Sunday though.
Regardless, I'm very impressed with what this staff has done with this team whether they make the playoffs or not. -
Most interesting scenario where we don't have to win out to win the Division.
All teams go 10-6 (Fins beat Jets, 49ers or Chiefs beat Fins and Pats lose any one game)
Fins 10-6 (Fins win Division - Common games (all split head to head and all have a div rec of 4-2))
Jets 10-6
Pats 10-6

The Pats are going to win out folks, the Jets have lost 2 in a row, and they lost badly, if anything, they appear to be collapsing a bit after beating the Titans.
Next up 49ers, I read earlier that Frank Gore could be done for the year.
Go Phins! -
I would say winning every week from here on out would guarantee the Fins a playoff spot rather than they have to win every game to get in. Technically the Fins only have to win one more game to get the division that game being versus the Jets. If the Pats and Jets lose their last three Miami gets in by handing the Jets their final loss even if they lose their next two. The Pats and Jets would be 8-8 and Miami 9-7. This is highly unlikely but it does show Miami doesn't have to win every game from here on out. Its simple for the Fins the one way to disregard what the Jets and Pats are doing is to just win out.
-
As I said earlier this season when everyone said that there was no chance in hell this team would even sniff the playoffs. It wasn't likely the Dolphins would make or come close to the playoffs but you can't just say it will not happen. Anything can happen.
Same about the Pats winning the remaining games. Anything could happen. What happens if Cassel were to go down with an injury? Hell the Seahawks almost beat them today.
So yes it is likely the Pats win but not a sure thing. I will be keeping my fingers crossed and pulling for their opponents instead of saying "Who cares, they are gonna win out.".
