I'm pretty superstitious, and since I started the last game thread and we won, I figured I'd start this one as well.
It doesn't get much better than this. The extremely hated Jets are coming to town and we all get a little more pumped up for it. Even the players and Joe Philbin alluded to the team having more of a bounce in their step this week. They understand how big these division rivalry games are.
Now, I believe the key to this game is to try to make Mark Sanchez beat us. Shut down their run game and whatever wildcat stuff they want to throw at us, and make him beat us.
By the way. Remember in 2009 when Rex Ryan and the Jets bashed us for using the wildcat? They called it a gimmick. LOL.
Tony Sparano is making his return to Miami and you just know he wants to shove it in our faces. He wants blood so I won't be surprised to see him pull out all the stops.
On offense, protect the football and keep a balanced attack and I really like our chances.
As you all know, our beloved jetssuck passed away earlier this year. No one hated the Jets more than him and this will be our first meeting since his sad passing. As Bpk mentioned in an earlier thread, this game is dedicated to him. I know he'll be cheering on the Dolphins in spirit extra hard this Sunday. I hope we can get it done, not only for all of us Dolphin fans/Jet haters, but for him as well. **** the Jets!
LET'S GO DOLPHINS!!!

Also, I know this thread is a little early but I won't be around tomorrow because I'm working, and then going to the Bruce Springsteen concert at MetLife. So I wanted to get this started before someone else came along and messed it up. :shifty:
And yes, I will be wearing my Dolphins hat in the enemy's stadium tomorrow night. -

Mike Golic picked against the Dolphins. Shocker.

Thanks for the early thread!
I'm about as excited for this game as I have been for any Dolphins game in a long while. It doesn't get any better than Dolphins/Jets when both teams have something on the line. It being early in the season and both teams with 1-1 records and all, there's still that Opening Day allure hanging around of "Anything Could Happen This Season" if your team gets to 2-1. The Jets with San Fran and Houston coming up have to see this game as crucial. Miami is young enough and growing as a team that they're still trying to find out who they are and are hoping to find the "Hey, we're pretty good!" ball under the shell. If they beat the Jets, not many of the next nine games seem unwinnable, especially as they don't face franchise QBs in those games. It sets up to be a great game. On paper the Jets may look a little better to most "experts", but a Miami home game at 1:00 p.m. with the Jets on the back end of two away games sort of evens the odds. Then, Miami's been able to run the ball and the Jets have been a little susceptible to that. We should have a good shot if we have some success there, and as was said above, we stop their run and leave it in the hands of Sanchez. May he have another 10-27 day!
I'm sort of at the stage in my Dolphin fandom of knowing they're not going to be that good this year, but each game I'll be pacing like a lion in a cage on edge, watching... hoping and praying that they can prove me wrong. Sort of like Fox Mulder with my Dolphin love:

i mean jaworski has to pick us for his name alone for the rest of the year and most of these other guys probably havent even seen miami play this year, accuscore picking us is also nice, i saw that earlier this week, its only 51% though -
Can it ever be too early to hope the Jets go down in flames? Didn't think so... Go Fins!

Its good to see people repeating their superstitions that worked. We need all the help we can get.

I'm scared, nervous, excited, eager... all of it. Sanchez has this knack for making the big throws against us when it counts. Remember the Monday night Braylon Edwards game? Although I agree we need to make them one dimensional, we've got to be able to put consistent pressure on Sanchez. We've also got to force more than one turnover to win. have to win the turnover battle. Offensively, same thing we did vs the Raiders. Tannehill has to make some throws downfield. Don't care who the receiver is, just get behind the Jets defender. At least two big plays downfield, not RAC plays, but 25+ yard throws where the receiver runs all the way to Orlando and scores.
Really need this one. Think I'm going to have to use my ONE TIME here in week 3. Just one time baby... -
all I know is that I dont want to see this happening....except Tony Sparano.

I actually think we do have a legitimate chance at beating the Jets. I personally feel they are overrated, not to mention the fact their offense is pretty much the same offense we've run for the last 4 years...we should have an inside line on what they're going to do.
If the offensive line can open holes for Reggie like they did last week, if we stay committed to the run to force the Jets to put 8 in the box, that'll free our receivers for some one on one coverage which should help Tannehill make some big plays down field.
C'mon Miami!!!!!!! -
Per James Walker (ESPN AFC East): "Jets announce they downgraded TE Dustin Keller (hamstring) and FB John Conner to "out" for Sunday's game against Miami."

i think our odds of winning this game went up significantly with Keller out. anything to help our linebackers in pass coverage.

Well one thing for sure is... it will be a wet day tomorow (gameday), and by all accounts it looks like it will rain during the game. For those of us attending, we will need to bring our ponchos, the alcohol and the food to at least enjoy the moments...
Will the ball be on the ground tomorrow due to the rain??? If it is, then we hope it's the Jets downfall and the Phins...
Here is to a Phins victory on Sunday afternoon...:drink: drink up Jets SuckPandarilla likes this. -

However, due to the visit from the sleep specialist, I think I see Sparano's micro-managing mentality starting to affect Rex.Bpk likes this. -

Do we even know the replacements for Conner, Keller and B. Thomas?
'cause those Giants replacements played pretty damn well Thursday... -
Prediction time...
