If they needed an extra linemen for whatever reason down the road, they simply would have signed him from the practice squad then, assuming, of course, that no other team grabbed him.
I would have preferred a kick returner, but I am happy for the young guy as well. -

I am glad to see us carrying 9 OL, I was disappointed when they originally indicated carrying only 8. We need a solid backup group. Garner is solid, glad we protected him this way. Based on what I saw of him in preseason.MrClean likes this.
