Does anyone else's blood boil every single time he make a catch vs us? It kills me...just kills me...that we let him get away and he comes back to burn us twice every year. Even when we beat them, he is still eating us alive.

at the time it was a great trade. he wouldnt do for us what he does for them. we dont have moss freeing welker up to one on one coverage or tom brady throwing to him
welker had like 1 receiving TD for us in 2 years. getting a 2nd and a 6th was very good at the time.Frumundah Finnatic, unluckyluciano, NolePhin and 1 other person like this. -
He wouldn't have that production here b/c we don't have a real number one receiver. But I still hate seeing him make those plays b/c of how he disrespected us after the trade. Wes Welker apologists like to pretend we wronged him but we didn't. It was just an NFL business decision.

You guys saying Welker wouldn't produce the same for us realize that he was averaging just over 10 yards a catch for us his last year here, just like he is in NE, right? The only difference is that he gets 100+ balls a year in NE, and he only got 70ish in Miami.

The trade still doesn't bother me. Welker is nothing without Randy Moss. As a matter of fact, I would say that we have three Wes Welker's on our present day roster. You give me Brandon Marshall next year and I'll give you a Wes Welker in the form of Bess, Camarillo, or Hartline. This is no critism of Welker. It's just who he is as a receiver which is commendable job.
None of this in no way makes this a topic worthy of reliving every time we play the freakin' Patriots. -
Ok so if we kept Welker and if we took Breeze instead of Culpepper. Wait thats already a bunch of ifs. Yes its annoying watching Welker grab any ball thrown within 30 foot of him.
The man has been Bradys go to guy and for a good reason he is a play maker. -

Yeah, Moss helps him, but he is still a hell of a player. -

The Pats signed him as a FA and put a poison pill in the contract. Mr. Kraft called Mr. Wayne up and said lets do this right and Mr. Kraft gave us a 2nd and 6th when he didn't have to. Props to BOTH owners for doing a right thing.GARDENHEAD and CrunchTime like this. -
Welker was one of my favorite players while he was a Dolphin, and I still think he's a great wide receiver. He reminds me alot of what Zach Thomas did, small, undersized athlete from Texas Tech who no one believed would do anything in the pros, but both proved everyone wrong. Wish Welker was still playing for us.

I don't have anything against Welker. I like the way he plays. However, I do feel that we are like the Washington Generals to his Harlem Globetrotters when he plays us. We jsut stand there and watch him spin the ball on his finger and can't figure out how to knock it off (aka cover him).

The coaching staff really appeared like they could give a **** less about Welker. Go look at the NFL.com highlight reel, he was often covered by a linebacker rather than a DB. They made a conscious decision to let him get his yards in order to shut down Randy Moss, who was a complete non-entity outside of his early TD.
And you know what? Absolutely, positively correct.
Wes Welker scored... zero points.
On drives Wes Welker had noteworthy contributions...zero points.GARDENHEAD likes this. -
I loved when Sparano was asked about what we did differently to shut down Welker late in the game......

Don't believe me, well then just go back a watch that game, Welker is only as good as we LET him be, jmho!:wink2: -
We've seen enough instances where he has proved his unique skills regardless of who is lined up next to him or who's passing to him..
You won't see me gives specific reasons anymore, been doin that for 4 years since he left, some either don't see his intracacies or don't wanna aknowledge them, as far as iam concerned the debate is over, he's a great football player.resnor likes this.
