Just noticed in all of the 'sign a wr!" talk, no one is mentioning Wes Welker.
Patriots seem inclined to let him leave, his contract demand is "elite" level.
Yet, no one seems to want the fmr Dolphin to return to Miami, I wonder why?

They are still butthurt about his comments from a few years ago.

Because he doesn't come packaged with Tom Brady.

My guess is that few people want to give a 32 year old WR elite money, especially since he could start to lose the quickness he makes his living off of at almost any time.

He's a very good slot WR. The Dolphins don't need a slot WR though. Especially one about to enter the down side of his career and asking for a lot of money.

the bridges are burned....he is done as a dolphin and honestly i don´t want that prick on our team

we don't need the poor man's version of Davone Bess.

If we didnt have that position covered with Davone Bess I would consider him but we have so many needs he would be a luxury we cannot afford.

I love to see Welker back, but we are a rebuilding team. Welker needs to be competing for a championship.

The only thing I liked about Wes was that one post game PC he did when he just went off on Rexys foot fetish in a very subtle way, just making puns and stuff. It was pretty damn funny.

Not too mention the salary he'd demand.... -
No. But I wouldn't be opposed to his wife coming here, and talk about what a horrible person Jeff Ireland is.

We need someone who can attack vertically and I don't think Welker can do that here.

i cant beleive we have so many dumb asses that would pick Bess over Welker . first off Welker is the best wr we h ave had since Paul Warfield these numbskulls that we have have at wr cant even tie their own shoe laces . if the dolphins had any kind of desire for reaching a superbowl they would bring Welker back so we can rub the pats nose it something instead of it being the other way around.
people somehow dont realize that Welker - Chambers tandom was 6 times better then these duffus of Hartline and Bess .finfansince72 likes this. -
There's a reason Welker hasnt been mentioned in our WR search..... most of us have precious little time to waste.Steve-Mo, GreysonWinfield, Den54 and 4 others like this. -
Bess would give the Pats 90% of the production they get from Welker. Wes would help the Phins, but not for the top shelf money he wants. On the plus side, I look forward to reading the tweets from his wife if the Pats let him walk. :)

Welker isn't easily replaceable by the Pats, they are an organization that would never franchise and pay a guy a big salary if he was just a replaceable slot guy. They are a much worse team without him and they need him to move the chains. He's been a HOF caliber player on that team in that offense. I think the notion that Bess could do what he does is insane, he's no where near as good a player as Wes is. Wes is a guy that has a legit shot at a HOF induction, a guy that has been a big time player on big time teams for years, Bess is a nice player thats it. Yeah Wes is extremely lucky to be playing in the right system with the right Qb but thats the case with tons of HOF players. The Pats owned our organization when they snookered us with that cleverly orchestrated contract to force a trade. Its one of the most lopsided trades in NFL History. I'd love to have Wes but he's just out of our price range and not worth it outside of NE for the money he will want. I think he'd be great in Denver if he does leave.

Fall Forward Fast! Or something like that.
I love his returns where I scream, "Aw yeah there's a hole!" only to see a guy halfway across my TV screen catch up when he's about halfway through the hole. -

Nah I love watching Welker drop game clinching passes way more than I ever loved watching him catch passes. He's a mediocre WR on most teams. Pass.

Welker has scored 39 total touch downs in his NFL career. 2 were with miami. 1 receiving. and 1 on a kick return.
He was Davone Bess here. He is Wes Welker, because of New Englands system and Tom Brady.
