This is the first year really where i really don't want anything materialistic... I want to give my parents though a gift card for a restaurant or something they can get use out of

 

Sent out cards already. The only ones we will give a little bit to is my two nieces, and nephew, and that is it. We will be with family for the Holidays and that's what matters most.:wink2:

 

Not giving a whole lot this year as we owe our girls' dance studio $745 this week for tuition and 10 costumes for their spring recital. Why they require payment for costumes now when it's a May recital is beyond me! I just want to be with my family for the holidays and presents don't matter all that much.

 

I think a lot of people get lost in giving everyone this and that, when being in good health, with loving family and friends, and most of all give thanks to man upstairs is the most important.

Personally I am giving people what they want by basically buying them gifts they know about and trying to throw in a surprise or two. For myself I've splurged on some PS3 games and will treat myself to a very relaxing Winter vacation from mid-December through mid-January (love UT for that break).

Also like others said I am just happy for the health of the people I care about especially since I have lost two grandparents this year and had a cancer scare with my mom earlier this year. I'm just happy I can spend the holidays with the people I care about and that we are all in good health (which is the greatest gift I could ever get).

The family dinner is my favorite thing and the Christmas tree.
The grandgirls will get something, somehow. Because grandma & grandad are expected to. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
After losing my friend a few weeks ago I am so thankful for our health and the many blessings we get each day.

I hear you bro. I have lost my mom this year, my wife has her grand father and a uncle doing bad, and her dad when diagnosed with Alzheimers, and can't drive any more at the age of 61. I think getting laid off this year from work, and not finding a new job yet, has made me really appreciate everything more in life.

Not really sure what the kids are getting at this point, but they will have something. If nothing else, they have the neccesities and their health. More than anything, I'm thankful for the health of my family. My mom had cataract surgery in November, on one eye, and the other scheduled for early January. She can see things now that she hasn't been able to see for 2 years. She spotted an ant on the porch, and could actually see it, and what it was doing. She hasn't seen one for so long, it made us all cry.

 

Yeah I know how you feel in a lot of ways. People have to worry not only about life and death but also the economy which just makes things worse (where my dad works a large amount of people are getting laid off this week-hopefully not him though). FFIC you've always been good to me on here and I wish you the best and hope you find work, I guess I'm lucky I am still a college student getting by on excess funds. Wish you the best FFIC. :hi5:

 

Not doing much this year-just getting a gift for my sister and my brother in law. They got me a Garmin GPS and gave it to me early since I was in Orlando for Thanksgiving. I am sitting at OIA now waiting for my flight back to Baltimore. This sucks.

 

Anyone who lives in the tri state area should be weary of anal gaps. I hear he lives around there somewhere...

I'm going to make a blues CD for christmas and give it to my family. (I play guitar)

I just hope I get love for christmas. If it's materialistic things you're looking for if I happen to end up finding some RAM or a HD in my possession I wouldn't be too upset ;)
