What Dolphin(s) player should be in the NFL Hall of Fame

I agree on Zach, and wonder about the Clayton Bros.

It depends on how stringent you're being with who's considered a former Dolphin.

Brandon Marshall could make it in. He's 18th on the league's all time receptions list, with 941, and will very likely join select company with 1000 catches this season. Everyone who currently has reached that mark is or will be in the HOF. But Marshall only played two seasons for Miami, the team was mediorce while he was here, and he holds no team records.

Wes Welker is 21st on the league's reception list. Even though he played more games for Miami than he did Denver, few other than Dolphins fans will even remember that he played for the Fins. He won a Super Bowl ring with two different franchises, and has a shot, but he won't go in as a Dolphin.

Ricky Williams became the 29th player to run for 10,000 yards in his career, much of it with Miami. The overwhelming majority of the players ahead of him on the list are or will be in the HOF, but he has no chance due to the off the field aspects of his life.

Zach absolutely belongs in the HOF. I think that he has a chance, but the love for Lewis and Urlacher by the media will hurt him, as he's unfairly seen as being inferior to those two by many. He's the only retired player who was really known as a Dolphin who belongs.

I'm sorry, but Ricky Williams has zero chance of being inducted. If you look at what he's done since football and the stories he tells of nearly 100% of the league smoking marijuana, there's just no way they consider him. He's basically the Pete Rose of football and they made his life a living hell his last few years in the league.

LOL, isn't that what I said? I personally think that he deserves consideration, but that he won't get in.

LOL, yup...you did. I misread it the first time. He does deserve to be in but there's not a chance in hell it happens.

I agree Zach belongs in- what about Offerdahl? Or is he already in? I think Offerdahl was better than Zach was, although they're both amazing. That's not something I've kept up with though.

Offerdahl is a guy that many Dolphin fans have fond memories of, but tend to overrate. Did you know that he only started 10 or more games three times in his career? He was injured and limited to half a season or less in five of his eight years in the league. On top of that, he was a good run defender, but not much of a playmaker. Four career INTs, one FR, zero FF, and 9.5 sacks.

He's not a guy that will ever even get onto the Dolphins Ring of Honor, let alone be considered for the HOF. We complain about Koa Misi, but the two have very similar careers, honestly. And anyone would laugh at the idea that Misi deserves that kind of honor.

By comparrison, Zach played in 184 games, as opposed to 86 for Offerdahl. He had 17 picks, including for for TDs. 16 FFs, 8 FRs, 20.5 sacks, and 38 passes defensed. Tackles weren't an official tracked stat during Offerdahl's career, but Zach ended up with 1100 solo, and 627 assists.

Offerdahl was injured very often and that hurt his career. Talentwise he was a much better LB than Misi. If Misi would have the same talent as Offerdahl, nobody would even talk about cutting or trading him.

Oh I agree. Didn't mean to suggest otherwise. Was just comparing the two as Fins LBs who have had very similar years played and both missed a ton due to injury. As hurt as Misi has been, he's been on the field more than Offerdahl ever was, and that's saying something. You can't be considered an all time great if you were never on the field.

Richmond Webb, 7 time Pro Bowler, anchor of the Offensive Line protecting Marino's blindside at left tackle. If ANY Dolphin deserves to be in the HOF, it's him!

Dick Anderson, as a member of the 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins and the famed "No Name Defense", he and Nick Bounicotti reeked havoc on opposing offenses. Anderson was selected to three consecutive Pro Bowls in 1972, '73 and '74.

Oh, you're serious! Making a big deal over a handful of games. Yes, you are correct, lol.

Zach deserves it, and will get in, 7 PBs and 5 APs and massive stats.

I'm surprised Nick hasn't gotten in yet, 8 PBs and 5 APs, he needs someone to campaign for him.

These are the only 2 Fins I think deserve the HoF, Webb was a great pass blocker, but was pretty one dimensional, Dick made big plays a lot, unfortunately he made them for both teams, which is why in 2 of his 3 seasons where he had 8 INTs(yes, 8 INTs in a 14 game season), he failed to make the PB.

Offerdahl was an excellent LB with very short range, people complain that Misi isn't fast enough, lol, he could run circles around Offerdahl, and Offerdahl was even more injury prone than Misi, JO was much better than Misi but still a long way from the HoF.

Well most of his salary this year is guaranteed, so I seriously doubt that they will cut a healthy Misi, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was the starter to begin the year, and at worst he's the 4th best LB on the team so he'll see plenty of snaps, if he can stay healthy that is.

the problem I see is more players in the recent era's will be inducted because of the inflation of the game offensively, leaving less of the "old school guys" behind.
