If you've watched this team all year, I think the title says it all. I don't think I need to post any team stats here to support this.
The running game started the year in dominant fashion. The last few weeks it's been terrible.
Reggie Bush averaged 1.4 yards per carry today. In a key 4th-quarter, clock-killing drive, he couldn't get the one yard needed for a 1st down on two consecutive carries. After a fake punt extended the drive, he couldn't get the one yard needed for a 1st down on 3rd down, which stalled the drive and gave the Rams the ball with plenty of time to win the game.
What in the hell is going on here?

For starters Miami has played some teams that are STOUT against the run. And then there's Dance Party Reggie Bush. I'm not going to bash him he's just trying for the home run every time he touches the ball and losing a lot of yards in the process.

The offensive line got no push all day. They got manhandled for the most part. There was no running room. I can't really fault Reggie for this, but it seems some want to make it out to be that way. With that being said, I do think Reggie is hesitating too much, trying to make the big run all the time, rather just just pushing forward and getting positive yardage. However, it was hard to get positive yards today, without much room to run. The OL has to do a better job IMO.

He DID get the yardage on that last play honestly before the fake. Horrible spot. They marked it where he got upended not where the ball landed.
However I put the blame on the offensive line. Reggie is meeting defenders in the backfield far too often.RevRick, Springveldt, shula_guy and 8 others like this. -
I thought the offensive line was pretty bad today. There was very little running room. Bush again tried to bounce too many, but overall I thought the lack of production in the running game today falls on the line. They did play a pretty good defense though.

Was there really a lot of dancing this week? It looked like far to much penetration by the defense. They showed one play where a defender got low, forced the block back closing the lane. Reggie had to take it to the outside and picked up less than 2 yards. He took the only lane that was there on ths play.

The offensive line isn't playing as well and Reggie Bush has regressed badly. I'd have to look at this game again but the last couple weeks between Incognito and Martin there have been a fair amount of runs single-handedly destroyed by bad blocking in either direction.
Someone needs to sit down Reggie Bush literally or figuratively. Start giving away his carries again like early last year, because he's playing like the New Orleans bust. He's making awful decisions with the ball that are actively hurting the team. Sometimes blocking is a problem at times, but he compounds it with making stupid decisions to go backwards or reverse field.shouright likes this. -
O-line was stuffed, and Lane had a weak blocking day. I think Bush is still hurting as well.
-
O-line was pretty awful today. That being said, Reggie needs to stop with the happy feet behind the line. Just pick a damn hole and hit it. You can do the "looking for a home run play" dancing once you've gotten 5 positive yards.
He needs to realize that it's better to get 1 positive yard, than be dropped behind for a loss of 5.shouright likes this. -
Lamar Miller looks like John Avery and we are *****ing about Reggie Bush.
This thread makes no sense.
Daniel Thomas was missed today. -

Nothing Reggie has done has bothered me. There have only been two plays the last two games I thought he bounced around when he didn't need to. Sometimes dancing is the best option, but people have it too deeply planted into their mind that it's bad to actually analyze the play itself. -
What happened is the Running Game is dressing up as Legadu Naanee for Halloween.

If it were one time, it wouldn't be an issue. It's been a half dozen or so plays plus in three weeks.shouright likes this. -
Shou, honest question.
Did you SEE the game? Or just follow it online?
Their front 4 dominated our line almost the whole time. The fact the Reggie got ANY yards is testimony to his ability to make people miss and pick up yards when there aren't any there. The line was terrible. -

In the first half he was dancing too much. You can't deny that. It was clear he got told off about it because he mostly cut it out in the 2nd half.

Reggie has not been the same running back since he was injured against the Jets. The offensive line has also not been opening holes in recent weeks. The Dolphins don't have any receivers which threaten the opposing team, therefore they can load up the defense to stop the run.
With Reggie not running with the speed and power he did before the injury and the WR's unable to stretch the defense, the Dolphins have just become a very mediocre running team. I think it will remain this way until the Dolphins eventually get a true #1 receiver. Hartline proved today that he is not a true blue chip receiver by making zero catches in the game.
This has been the problem with Hartline since he has been a member of the Dolphins. He shows up for some games and he completely disappears in other games. Right now I don't care if they sign him to a new contract or not. Wes Welker is a free agent after this season and I would rather the Dolphins sign him as their #2 receiver than, Hartline.MrClean likes this. -

The real question is where was Miller? He he didn't get a fair chance on this game he might not ever get a chane unless DT and Bush have a concussion. That's dissapointing! He obviously hasn't won the coaches over.
As a response to this thread I will regurgatate what different posters have said becaause they're all true. We have faced stout run defenses, Reggie dances around too much and the Offensive line hasn't put forth as much effort against the run defenses we've been facing. On top off all that Reggie is still showing up on the injury report, which brings me back to this...Where was Miller??
