Audioslave sucked thats what happened. Shouldve brought back Soundgarden.

Timberland produced this record didnt it? Seems like an odd paring so I'm not surprised that it sucks.

almost right. that Temple of the dog cd was pretty damn good. better then any audioslave cd I found. But Soundgarden was awesome. thats 1 group that needs to get back together. :yes:

 

Temple of the Dog was the most emotional, heartfelt, meaningful work Cornell ever did...the record is a masterpiece in my opinion.

Badmotorfinger is a GREAT record. I can take or leave basically everything Audioslave ever recorded. Yes, they have some cool tracks but from a "total package" perspective, a lot of it was filler.

 

I was looking at it as a combination of quality and how big they were as a group not just what I liked. I do like temple of the dog more then audioslave..............

Sometimes guys get tired of the same-old, same-old. I don't see this being a lasting partnership, but for an album or two; it's not going to alienate his core rock fans, that's for sure. They'll whine about it, but they'll all welcome him back the second he puts out a hard-charging, ballz-in-your-face album. :up:

Artists want and need challenges (Ray Charles' country album, anyone??:wink2: ). This is about as good a one as there is out there for Cornell. I say more power to him. I hope it's successful. It'll widen his audience, and give himself (as well as others) affirmation that he's more than just a one-trick pony.

That's my take.

 

haven't u guys heard is solo project thing right before audioslave? singing about flowers,pretty things and crap..i about threw up the first time i heard it on the radio. while i haven't heard this new thing i am afraid it is like the solo attempt. also the song he did by himslef for james bond(i think that was it) was horrible imo.

 

Interesting... Hey who are we to judge. He's an artist. If thats the direction he wanted to go with this album, then so be it. Its and interesting sound i guess, definately not what I wanted to hear from him though. Got to give him credit for experimenting and trying something different though...

 

From Rock to R&B? Bit of a sell out if you ask me, stick with what you do best Chris.

I did like AudioSlave, but SoundGarden was better IMO.

 

This is much different than that album, which actually had some good songs.

I'm not liking this song. Two great artists. Just isn't a good match IMO.

 

He's still a hell of a singer,although he cant hit the high notes as well as he used to, its just that this style doesnt suit him.

 

Dude, that record is LOADED with quality material and it all means something. I can't say enough good things about the album.

 

two great artist? sorry i tryed to listen to the whole thing but couldn't..all i saw was chris so could you tell me who the other artist was?

yea after listening to some of it it is definately not like his first solo attempt and it may be a little weirder..i know i should give it a chance but it is way outta filed from what i am used to and like from chris.

next up your favorite christmas carols as sung by ozzy osbourne..just because you can doesn't meen you should.

 

Not only was temple 1 album, it was a tribute album to honor the death of the lead singer from Mother Love Bone, Andrew Wood. He and Cornell were good friends.

Cornell's new stuff is horrible, but it doesnt surprise me. He always had too good of a voice for grunge (even though thats what made SG stand out)

Plus I think he's living in Europe now or something. He had to check his balls at Customs...
