Everyone was obsessed with this guy because he had 1000 yards during a year we had Bess as a #2...LOL.
Where are the fans and why isn't anyone calling this guy out? I thought he's a TOP WR worth his contract for having a "1,000 yard season"

For everyone being obsessed, all I read is post after post tearing the guy down.
The only obsession I see is from the people who don't like Hartline.Section126, unluckyluciano, Stitches and 1 other person like this. -
Our "deepest" position being WR is clearly a fans fantasy and denial.
Outside of Wallace our WR core is pathetic. Gibson is what he was, a WR the Rams didn't care to retain.
Hartline is what he was, nothing.
Wallace is the only guy performing yet people hated him just like they hated Marshall.
Our 2nd best WR is our slot WR in Landry.
Where is the speed on this team? where is the game changer? Game breaker? the deep threat?
Whens the last time Miami had a completion over 30 yards outside of Wallace? let alone for a TD? Is miami the only team we watch on Sundays that can't complete a deep ball for a TD on a weekly basis?
Just wondering since we have the HIGHEST paid WR CORE IN THE NFL!Rosco 35 likes this. -
Hartline, Gibson, Binns (cut), and Clay are all slowed this year by knee injuries.
Sometimes it takes 2 years for a player to fully recover from a knee injury.
In many cases, they never fully recover, and they permanently lose a step.
Hartline, Gibson, Clay probably should have spent preseason & part of the regular season focusing on rehab, instead of playing hurt.
Healthy players like Rishard Matthews, Jarvis Landry, and Gator Hoskins should have been given more opportunities. -
I gave up hating on Hartline and Daniel Thomas these two guys somehow find a way to stay on the team every year

Hartline is a good, but not great WR. His contract isn't that heinous relative to his value. Wallace is playing much better relative to everyone's expectations going into the season.
The biggest problem with our WR corps is that none of them can go up and fight for the ball. probably the only WR that has a modicum of ability to fight for the ball is our rookie Landry. Look at Jordy Nelson yesterday. He has speed, height and strength to fend off Grimes even when Grimes has good coverage. furthermore, when he's going back and forth with a good CB, he's able to maintain his balance, get the ball and keep moving (i.e. the anti-Hartline).
As much as most like Charles Clay, including me, he's not the kind of TE that will go up and get the ball in the crowd. So essesntially, we have no one on this team that has that kind of ability. I know all the whiners on this board will be clamoring to draft a QB in round 1 next year. and if one of the two elite QB prospects drop to us, we have to take them. but if they don't drop to us, I'd be all for drafting a WR that can dominate in a crowd. -

Hartline has made his career on comeback routes.. seriously every catch he has made over the last few years its a comeback. This year I think he has caught maybe 2 come back routes. When he is on the field his route tree has pretty much excluded that route which is kind of baffling to me, Tannehill and Hartline have a good chemistry and needs to be utilized more often

Our WRs are the highest paid in the league and far from being the most talented.
I like Hartline. I like Gibson too. However, I think they're both expendable with Jarvis Landry, Rishard Matthews, and Damian Williams. I worry about someone having the ability to run routes as well as Hartline. I mean he does a few things really well...just not sure the value is worth the contract.
I think this team is going to seen many changes within the next year - the WR corp is just one of many groups that will be affected. -
He's just wasting snaps right now. I like the guy, but it's truth. Go look at the catch Jarvis Landry made in the end zone yesterday. That's what you should expect from a 'possession' receiver. Brian Hartline instead gives us plays like that interception where his QB trusts him to go up for a jump ball and he doesn't even get a hand on it.
Rishard Matthews should be the boundary WR starting opposite MW. -

I may be knew here but I wished we had Gadsden , McDuffie , Chambers and Wallace with Landry as the wild card in a four wr set.
I like Wallace , and Landry and I was fond of Mathews but I am more disappointed in our running backs , sure they can be ok but Miller ran backwards on one play for a loss of ten yards , that should be noted too . what we need is a bright qb and big and smart wide receivers. I like clay but the other tight ends don't excite me. I am pondering as to whether or not that we need to blow the whole offense up and start over.
ON defense we just need 4 linebackers and a couple of cb's . -
Always thought Hartline was overrated. Sure his stats seem impressive but they were padded due to our lack of depth at WR previously. He's an ok slot receiver but nothing special. He's Brandon Stokely basically. He also disappears way more than he shows up.

He's allergic to the endzone. That is the only thing I've ever disliked about Hartline.
