If anyone has proved their ineptness, it would Ireland. I know the lynch mob is angry and wants blood but I'm not sure firing Sherman solves our problem. While his playcalling was head scratching at times, this offense was held back by the worst OL in Dolphins history and a pair of RB's who wouldn't start on any other team. We do have talent, that is true. Teams with huge, glaring holes at multiple positions(OL, LB, RB) don't make the playoffs.

Because at least I am unlikely to be massively disappointed in any season if it keeps improving. Though I feel weirdly disappointed by this season.

Should he announce that his coaches are staying or even his GM and the report comes back depicting knowledge of the incidents onto the staff then Ross will have to back-track and likely fire the same personnel he now chooses to keep. If he fires the coaches and the investigation comes back to show the staff had no knowledge of the situation then Ross still has the fall back of the finality of the season as his crux for making that decision

I'm at the point now that I'm happy Ross put himself in that situation.

The whole mess with Martin and Incognito shouldn't play a role in keeping/firing personnel IMO.

Don't agree. Preventing the Martin and Incognito mess is exactly Philbin's job. It doesn't matter if Philbin wanted Incognito gone, he still failed.

It's more important to me that Philbin goes than Ireland, although I'm ready for Ireland to go too. But what happened those last 2 games is on Philbin. And it was the same thing we saw in the first game against Buffalo and the TB game, both games with extra time to prepare. We saw some ridiculously uninspired and apathetic football. We saw the team mimic Philbin's personality. Those were games lost to less talented teams. Ireland played little to no role in those losses. 7 pts combined in 2 critical games is inexcusable. Two games against bad rookie QBs and a grand total of 1 sack and 1 turnover? That's just pathetic. And I don't see how you separate Sherman from Philbin -- they are about as joined at the hip as any HC/OC pairing in NFL history (with the possible exception of the father-son pairings like the Shanahans). What exactly is it that people think Philbin is good at or has done well?

I've had my season tix for 18 years since I moved back down here. If Philbin stays I will not renew. I will still go to the games and support my team, but I'll buy my tix on the secondary market (StubHub, etc.) on a game to game basis. There obviously will be plenty of seats available.

The leaked voice mail rant (which was obviously in jest) happened outside the building, but the alleged bullying happened inside the building. For example, the
"get up from the lunch table" thing, etc. I don't think that, or most of what we've heard about, is really a big deal and I think Martin is a whiny baby (if what I have heard is true), but not everything happened outside the building. And if there was a "Code Red" ordered, that presumably happened in the building (and maybe from within Philbin's office).

We have. And that alone doesn't mean he can't be a good coach. But how many of those successful stoic coaches had teams tank 2 games to end the season against sub-.500 division rivals starting bad rookie QBs with the playoffs on the line and by scoring a combined 7 points? I'm not saying his personality is what caused the tanking -- I am just saying that the team played with about as much fire as Philbin shows.
