With our woeful record will we have to pay over the odds to get quality Free-Agents? If we do get over-paid players can we afford them in the long run?
-
Chad Johnson wants to play here. :ffic:
-
No offense, but going 1-15 is not going to scare free agents away. Players like Florida, money is money, and we have Bill Parcells running things.
-
Parcells and the fact that players like Florida will be enough to have free agents come here without having to overpay.
-
you'd be surprised how many people would like to play here. We've never had trouble getting guys to come here if we really want them to come. A lot of signings aren't always about winning. Most are money, but in a lot of cases, they go where they feel comfortable or get a chance to play.
We could probably get some really good young players in FA because we can promise them the chance to start or be the guy. 2 guys I've been using as prime examples; Ben Utecht (TE, INdy) and Matt Giordino( S, INdy). Both are good players, but they will never be the guy at their positions. -
-
the thing that bothers me most with pro athletes is the fact that they will play for anybody who pays them alot of money most of the time, so dont worry, we have 30 million to spend and alot of guys who want a check
-
for example look at SF, they spent alot of money and got some big name defensive players
-
-
young players want money, old players want a ring,
-
well bill wil get the right guys and we have the money
-
money talks guys, it is a shame but it does, you have to spend it right
-
-
I will drive chad from cinny to miami tommorrow
-
-
great gas that will save me gas money
-
At the end of the day, it's still South Beach. It's still one of the major cities.
Every young player would love to catch their pay day in Miami. The only players who would look the other way if offered equal money = players aged 30+ and looking for a Super Bowl title more than a pay day which they've already received. -
chad is not a free agent so i guess he is out
-
well at least hes saying he wants to play for us which is a false hope IMO whilst we have this debacle at the moment. TO went from 49ERS to Eagles then to Dallas so he hardly missed a beat with his trades. For Johnson to come here right now would mean he downgrades IMO.
-
hopefully Parcells has helped the cause...otherwise i dunno
-
Its this simple guys. If the Bengels want the #1 overall pick. Yes, we will get Chad Johnson.
He wants out of there. Read that article again. Hes "sick of the same old thing" seems like him and Palmer are arguing more than celebrating...he just wants a change of scenery.
He is not stupid...he knows what Parcells has done at every franchise and I believe that resume is enough to convince him he'll be O.K. coming to Miami. Especially if FA brings us other big names before draft day.
It all comes down to the draft...I can't see him being dealt any other way. He still has a pretty big contract and the Bengels would rid themselves of that and have the #1 overall to grab ...say Dorsey? Chris Long? I think that is a dire need on their team - the D-Line.
I could see swapping #1's & Chad Johnson happening...but thats if we don't already have other better offers (more picks) -
were does cincy pick

We have to remember that almost all our pics are 1st up in each round so they are extremely valuable this yr.
He sure put a show today and was on his best behavior after the tds. Maybe he was auditioning for tuna and the fish today. -
I hear all this stuff about Parcells and his "type" of player. Hes had a few players who dont subscribe to his way of thinking in his time. Most of them did well under the Tuna. -
Dude, players Love Miami. Its a dream destination and an undeniable advantage for us.
