I read a report that Collins was freelancing alot, which led to his trade. Do we really need a freelancing linebacker?

 

He likes playing Xbox. He doesn't even like watching football.

I read article on him that he was not playing as he should be playing. They were ripping him pretty good about not doing what he was supposed to. You really think the Pats would have traded him otherwise?

 

He's been blowing assignments.

 

He'll get one or two years of his million dollar paycheck and then retire. He doesn't even like football and has said as much. In other words, he's in it for the money and only the money.

Why would the Browns trade away a player they just traded for? Answer, we give them more than they gave up, and they gave up a 3rd round pick.

I also don't know how this would screw over the Pats, since they no longer wanted him on the team.

We already have a 100 mil player on D, no way we can afford 2 of them, so no chance we would be able to sign him, we would just be spending a 2nd round pick on a half year rental.

 

He would NOT have fit in with our defense. The coaches came right out and said one of the biggest reasons why our D struggled to start the season...was defensive players going off script. This was one of the reasons why Bill B traded him....

 

Can't afford his upcoming contract. Dunno why this is even a discussion.

Were you expecting someone else? As another poster commented, I honestly do not know if this is a serious question regarding a guy who was already traded 15 hours before this was posted.

 

Lombardi specifically called out an example.

Collins played almost every snap through 4 games. BB started to sit him more and more.

Could be many things that the average fan can't gleam from just watching the games, and that only somebody part of the Patriots organization really knows.

 

Collins probably did. Or Bill put up with it, but impending free agent, gonna get paid a lot, and Elandon Roberts happened.

What he said in the offseason about him and Chandler Jones probably didn't help.

 

How many times is ok? If each player on defense says "I only did it once." That is 11 plays screwed up. On this one they gave up 28 yards.

 

They say they pulled him on obvious running downs. If so, they probably viewed him as a huge liability on those downs and that maybe where he did the most freelancing (or just blowing assignments). He went from a 100% player to 48/78,

 

Why would BB put up with freelancing, when he's put so much effort into finding out exactly what the other team is gonna call......

 

Bill wouldn't tolerate 5 gaffes that's for sure, not game over game.
