Trade our first round pick for Big Ben? I just head on ESPN that they will trade him for a top 10 draft pick. We can throw some compensation in it too.

Nothing personal, I would flip if we did something like this.late again and eric like this. -

I would if we didn't have Henne, but as it stands, no I wouldn't.

I'd rather have Henne and a 1st round pick than 2-time SB winning QB facing a 6 game suspension who has a history of poor off-field decisions.

The only team i see doing this trade with Pittsburgh would be Cleveland or Oakland. Oakland is more realistic.
I wouldn't do it even if we didn't have Henne, I think Ben is a good qb, but he's an injury waiting to happen, terrible community guy/pervert, and I think the steelers Defense won them those championships more than ben did. Sure he played clutch and played well, but without that defense there was no way they are winning championships. If he goes to a team without Troy n Co' not sure he'll find the same success. For a top 10 pick and he's suspended to start the season? Not a chance in hell. Sorry Butters, i don't want that unsub anywhere near our awesome dolphins.
I think he's got the potential. But he's definitely not in the category of "We need to replace him with a 1st rounder." Maybe next year if he doesn't pick up. He just finished his first year after picking up halfway through for Pennington. And did pretty average over the season. Given a full offseason to work with receivers and get better, I think he'll do pretty good.
Do I think he'll be as good as Roethlisberger? Probably not.
Do I think the productivity of whatever our 1st round pick nets us, and Henne will be more than Roethlisberger? Not a doubt in my mind yes.

If I could flip Henne for a 1st or high 2nd then yes. i love Chad Henne's potential and he was my top rated QB in 2008 and I still think he will prove to be the best QB from that draft but Roethlisberger is a 2x winning SB QB; one of 6. Brady, Montana, Roethlisberger, Elway, Starr, Bradshaw. Thats the list. I love Henne but you cant pass on Roethlisberger in that scenario. I dont think it will happen but if it presented itself today I would have to do it.
True but there is a difference between a guy who hs been there and done it and knows the pressure vs a player who hasn't been there and you don't know how he will react. I'm not doubting Henne but its different when you're dealing with a known quantity.
If Big ben cant keep his ***** in his pants playing for Pitt, how do you think he'll manage in Miami, the mecca of fine women??? No...thank...you...
We live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty. At least a couple of studies have concluded that approximately 50% of all sexual assault allegations are false. So while he shows a pattern of stupid, questionable and reprehensible behavior, I'm not going to call him a rapist.
I'm not either....but I will say his judgement is bad,and he shows a very large lack of self control.
The Georgia incident is much more troubling than the Nevada lawsuit. I'm pretty sceptical of someone making an accusation like that in civil court when no police report is ever made.
However, he has never been arrested, let alone charged with anything, giving him a leg up on Brandon Marshall for that matter, and if I didn't believe in Henne I'd definitely have to consider it.
No it isn't. People settle suits all the time even when they don't believe they are liable. The biggest issue is usually attorneys fees but in Ben's case is the negative publicity, win or lose.

Only if that would allow us to lock Ben up and throw away the key. I want no part of that dirt bag.
I can't take this seriously when the thread starter was named Butters..........
If we didn't have Henne, I'd be interested.
Henne, ain't looking at the possibility of playing for "State Pen" like Big Ben is.
Civil lawsuits=hush money.......Ben, Kobe, etc etc....It is a quick way for the accuser to shut her mouth and go away....People who did nothing wrong, dont settle aggravated civil lawsuits, I wouldnt, nor would anybody else with common sense....By settling something between these types of physical civil lawsuits, the accused may not have done all the things being said obvously, but some sort of wrong-doing is going on....and it is mostly the aggressors fault...consider it a civil plea bargin
Civil lawsuits between wills, pensions, slip and falls, med mals, zoning, trusts are different, it is because a dilemma, not one party is strictly at fault, however they come to a fair and equatable agreement....i.e. spiltting of the money...
I see it everyday I work in the courthouse....and lawyers get their money regardless....that gets worked out in the end...however taken off the top first...lol..

No, but since you seem to want Ben. Are you 100% sure that he won't end up in prison by next year?
