"While the serene exterior keeps the quaint surroundings communities and their surrounding lifestyles in mind, make no mistake that within the stadium the strength and turmoil of the hurricane can be felt by all rivaling teams, With 70,000 seats designed around focusing on key elements of the game, a three tier deck style system maintaining as little distance between the fans and the field as possible, and an open air concourse, fans are always visually and physically engaged with the playing field, by keeping the fans involved in the game, and providing the third deck of seating surrounding the Miami hurricanes endzone, a clear advantage for the home team is developed as opposing teams will have to overcome substantial volumes of noise being funneled into them by the roof while they try to score.
"The hurricane stadium aims to replace the void and once against provide the hurricanes with the most feared stadiums in the nation"
"The steep seating slope and three tier seating deck system create for a tremondously loud atmoshere by placing the spectators as close to the field as possible, creating unheard of levels of noise for the opposing team to have to battle through"
Thank you to whoever created this incredible proposal, lets just say you have put my thoughts, my visions and my frustrations and my football dream over the past two decades so perfectly... I'd like to come and work for you if your out there..this site will vouch for me on this topic..lol.
Now this is progressive thinking...only thing to add is making it a multiplex for both our programs.. it's freakin beautiful man.
I would hope that every fan of the canes and dolphins would exhaust all resources to get this in front of our execs..

Its pretty cool though
-
We get it, you don't get it, but obviously more than myself does. -
Looks pretty freaking cool. What is this though? Just some fan made idea or is this like an actual proposal?
-
There is no way that this could be proposed, designed, and built by that time. What exactly would you be trying to accomplish by "getting this in front of our execs" in regards to the news of the Super Bowl and talk of renovations?
Are you proposing not doing renovations and electing to not host the Super Bowl? -
-
-
You get Ross and his partners in the same room with the administration and boosters of the U, and you show the tremendous advantages of sharing the stadium and how it would fit perfectly with the concept..Both programs have the same history and connection with their old building, and both could use each others money.Marco likes this. -
Really Cool. I dont really like the view from the outside, it would be nice if it looked a bit better. I like the concept of the stadium interior though. Full bowl all the way around, roof for the seats, and Iimagine it just traps crowd noise like crazy to help give a true sense of homefield advantage.
Personally, I think it makes sense for us to partner with the university on a new stadium.djphinfan likes this. -

I pretty sure our local beat writers read this site, Wouldn't it be cool as hell for one of them to break this story and put it out there from everyone to see...
I mean, we're not trying to wait for bandwagon fans to go to the games once the team has to win 12 games a year, lets develope a whole new one, and how this could be the catalyst for it all...what a story.. -
I think the concept and look of the stadium is awesome.. Though I think if the Dolphins and Canes were to share the stadium the location would have to be moved off campus. Our current stadium is 25 years old and in need of major upgrades to continue to be a Super Bowl Host contender. Instead of spending tens or even hundreds of million dollars to upgrade our aging stadium we should partner with the U for a new state of the art stadium. Ross could front the money for a new stadium and he would still be a Multi-billionaire.
Also with a new stadium we would be host multiple times in the near future and with the economy in Florida being so bad we could use all the tourism and extra income that a new stadium would bring. -
concept looks awesome..but the dolphins cant get 70,000 how the hell are the hurricanes going to fill those seats up. Talk about fairweather fans!
-
It's not relevant information though. There will be no new stadium anytime soon for the Miami Dolphins. The very best it will see is a renovation project and that's up in the air. You seem to think that Ross and company can just up and get a new stadium by snapping his fingers DJ and the truth of the matter is, is that he took out a loan for a billion dollars to get this team and the stadium! So you see, he has just bought a new stadium in his eyes. A new stadium will not bring profits to his new toy. It will bring another mortgage payment.
NFL teams do not keep all of the money they generate from the ticket office. The NFL has a revenue sharing agreement in which teams give up a large chunk (something like 40%) of their ticket sales, which is then redistributed among all teams. So with a new mortgage payment, the profits will be less than they are now.
It has nothing to do with the stadium creating energy. That will last only a few games if the product on the field is not up to par or better.
So once again! There will be no stadium. Not with a petition! Not with a million people signing it! The only way it CAN happen is for the public to fund it and after the highway robbery deal that the Marlins just got, it aint happening again. -
The Marlins have basically torpedoed any possibility that any of the other local teams will get public money, first and foremost.
But this looks like it's an old(judging by the renderings) and amateur(judging by spelling errors, etc.) college architecture proposal too.
It's also a pretty ****ty location for the Dolphins. -
-
Every time public funding comes up, the Marlins white elephant is going to show up. The people who will inherently oppose it will have loads of ammo.Bumrush likes this. -

God I wish we had our own on campus stadium. The residents of Coral Gables will never allow it though.

No? -
Its a cool student architectural project. I was an architecture major in college, and our senior project was a train station and hotel - not nearly as interesting. However, as a real life proposal, I think that its a total no go. I could care less about the university, Im not a resident or fan of the college. As to the Fins, I think that major renovations to JRS are the only way to go for now. I think that the square partial roof idea floated before was lame, but something needs to be done. Whatever happend to Huizenga's plan to move the seats closer to the field, BTW?

It's not the stadium. It's the fans in the seats. For the 50th time, JRS can be loud as hell if the fans got off their collective asses and cheered like they did in Seattle or other venues.
I've seen it with my own eyes. I've seen JRS rock when 60,000 UM-FSU fans made more noise than 75K Dolphin fans. It was nearly deafening.
Can we stop with this ridiculous notion of building a new stadium when JRS fits our needs perfectly? What do we want, the next MetLife building that feels like a morturary with ATM machines in place every 5 feet so you can get hosed even more? Higher ticket prices? PSL's?
Put a winning product on the field and the place will explode. Host an AFC Championship game for the first time since 1986 and the place will rock. We should be happy that 60k+ show up after fielding a pathetic group of teams for the past 15 years. By the end of this season if Tannehill proves to be the 2nd coming of Marino, that venue will not only be sold out all the time, but it will be rocking.
Winning will make this debate moot. Just like it has for the incessant Ireland bashing.unifiedtheory, oakelmpine, Stitches and 2 others like this. -
You do remember both programs history with their old building right? You are listening to the designers of this concept?
I wonder if you really read the article. -
I can tell you that if this came to vote I would vote NO on any public funding. Number 1 I know that they will choose profit over "loudness", number 2 it would raise ticket prices, number 3 it makes no sense. -
I'm not going to be passive on a subject that needs to change, even the execs understand this, they know there is a problem, and it's not just about winning games. -
-
-
That stadium design is one of the ugliest I have ever seen. it is a throwback to the cookie cutter 70's.
Grotesque eye sore. -
New stadium for 8k fans? Jesus. Win games and the stadium will rock. They will flock to fill the seats. Win. Games. PERIOD.
