I was just watching espn and they were talking about who is going to be lucks manning or brady for the next 10 years. They mentioned Joe flacco, maybe Blake bortles,Aj McCarron,or Zach mettenberger,or david carr.No mention of tannehill and worst of all the prediction was jimmy garoppolo. This is a reflection of what everybody thinks not of tannehill but the future of this team in the hands of ross.Very sad.

We've never been media darlings. I'm okay with this.

I don't know where Dolphin fans get the idea that Tannehill has a lot of respect outside of Miami. He doesn't.
The guy is the epitome of mediocrity. He will never be great, and that is just really obvious.
The Dolphins should have drafted Luke Kuechly, I was almost as disappointed then as when we drafted a center with the 15th pick in the draft the year before.
We are 8-8 forever with ross,Philbin,Coyle and Tannehill.
I almost had some hope with Hickey but then he blew the trade down in his first 1st round and now he has been castrated by the T-bomb hire.shamegame13 likes this. -
As long as we have this regime and this owner this team might as well be in a black hole as far as the pundits perception .Tanny has the potential but the team cant seem to get a decent OL.

My perception is he put up north of 4000 yards. Only 10 other QB's bested that and the difference between 1rst and 11th (Drew Brees) is not that great if we make some simple adjustments. Brees had 69 more attempts then Ryan did.
Just an example if we take Ryan's avg per attempt 6.9 and multiply by the 69 more attempts that Brees had, the difference in yardage would only be 430 yards or 27 yrds a game.
Do the same with TD's. Tannehill avg's 1 td per 150 yrds of passing. Adjusting for the extra attempts and he would have had 30 td's instead of 27. Only 3 shy of #1 ranked Drew Brees.

It seems like perception is the problem for Ryan Tannehill and as my Name states "Perception is Reality"
Ryan Tannehill is a good QB in a bad situation. With different circumstances - the sky is the limit -

You wait and see when the Buccs make the playoffs in their first season. I rather take a chance on a quarterback that might be great than continue the treadmill Tannehill has gone in both college and pro. Tannehill isnt a winner, and Winston already has a killing instinct trait that Tannehill has yet to develop.

Did I miss something?? Tannehill has been professional, played well, shown a great attitude, and is a leader of Men.
Maybe the killer instinct you refer to is kneeling down on the ball with 2 minutes left in the half or feeling Quesy??
I thought you liked Tannehill?? -

the irrelevancy is because many different factors over a long period of time, the team collectively choked their way out of the playoffs against inferior opponents two years running, they have the worst percentage of viewership in their own market, their stadium was a joke, there is a miami perception that the national public doesn't like, and the qb hasn't not anything memorable since he got here.

I mean the guy is given a play and told to run it. Even with this inept coaching staff he still managed to put up top 10 numbers. Tannehill is actually 11th, but 10/11 is so close he might as well be 10. I would love to see what he could do under a good coaching staff.

I don't think this is true. Just some people's opinions maybe. I'll continue to make my own judgements. -

And Andy Dalton fans probably should be much more peeved at this than you guys are...
P.S. Based on nothing but analytics I think McCarron does have a high potential to be great. -
If the draft had gone the way I hoped it would, the Dolphins would be a much better team at this time. They would have the best MLB in the league and also a QB who is much better than Tannehill. -

I think Lovie Smith will probably be just the type of head coach Winton will be able to play for. Winston's biggest issue at this time is immaturity. Once he grows up and stops acting like a jerk, he is going to be one of the top QB's in the NFL.
It might take him a couple of years to adjust to the NFL and gain the maturity he needs, but I suspect that within the next 3-5 years, he will be a much better NFL QB than Tannehill.
I see Tannehill as a decent QB who can lead his team to 8 or 9 victories a season, but not the type of QB who will ever be able to lead the team deep into the playoffs. He is okay for now but if the Dolphins ever expect to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the future, it will have to be with a QB who is much better than Tannehill, IMO. -
-
Wilson is a better leader on the field and he makes plays when the game is on the line in the fourth quarter. Wilson also has pocket awareness which is something Tannehill severely lacks.
I thought Wilson was the better QB coming out of college and he has proved to be the better QB in his three years in the NFL. -

Can we win a decent amount of games with Tannehill? Obviously. But after three years we still have questions about whether he's good enough. In the NFL you need 'great' at the qb position, and at the moment we don't have it.
(And yes I understand Winston probably won't make it to 14. Just using this as an example for the mentality this organization has had/needs to have.)
