There is no way that this could be proposed, designed, and built by that time. What exactly would you be trying to accomplish by "getting this in front of our execs" in regards to the news of the Super Bowl and talk of renovations?

Are you proposing not doing renovations and electing to not host the Super Bowl?

It looks like they are proposing putting this on campus of UM? I dont think that would fly for the Fins. And I dont think Miami would help fund a stadium that would not be on campus.

I know this cannot be done before the Super Bowl FN, but if we lose out on it, the rumblings about the current one will grow exponentially, what I'm suggesting is to try and inspire our own owners and their partners to see the impact of something like this for both programs and their cultures, think about going that route, relative to the costs of renovating the current one..

It's the only thing this group didnt think of, however if funding is what its all about then making some changes to include a multiplex type building would inherently make their pitch more cost effective..

You get Ross and his partners in the same room with the administration and boosters of the U, and you show the tremendous advantages of sharing the stadium and how it would fit perfectly with the concept..Both programs have the same history and connection with their old building, and both could use each others money.

Really Cool. I dont really like the view from the outside, it would be nice if it looked a bit better. I like the concept of the stadium interior though. Full bowl all the way around, roof for the seats, and Iimagine it just traps crowd noise like crazy to help give a true sense of homefield advantage.

Personally, I think it makes sense for us to partner with the university on a new stadium.

it does make sense Brandon,on so many levels, the concept connecting to our cultures is the best level.

I pretty sure our local beat writers read this site, Wouldn't it be cool as hell for one of them to break this story and put it out there from everyone to see...

I mean, we're not trying to wait for bandwagon fans to go to the games once the team has to win 12 games a year, lets develope a whole new one, and how this could be the catalyst for it all...what a story..

I think the concept and look of the stadium is awesome.. Though I think if the Dolphins and Canes were to share the stadium the location would have to be moved off campus. Our current stadium is 25 years old and in need of major upgrades to continue to be a Super Bowl Host contender. Instead of spending tens or even hundreds of million dollars to upgrade our aging stadium we should partner with the U for a new state of the art stadium. Ross could front the money for a new stadium and he would still be a Multi-billionaire.

Also with a new stadium we would be host multiple times in the near future and with the economy in Florida being so bad we could use all the tourism and extra income that a new stadium would bring.

concept looks awesome..but the dolphins cant get 70,000 how the hell are the hurricanes going to fill those seats up. Talk about fairweather fans!

It's not relevant information though. There will be no new stadium anytime soon for the Miami Dolphins. The very best it will see is a renovation project and that's up in the air. You seem to think that Ross and company can just up and get a new stadium by snapping his fingers DJ and the truth of the matter is, is that he took out a loan for a billion dollars to get this team and the stadium! So you see, he has just bought a new stadium in his eyes. A new stadium will not bring profits to his new toy. It will bring another mortgage payment.

NFL teams do not keep all of the money they generate from the ticket office. The NFL has a revenue sharing agreement in which teams give up a large chunk (something like 40%) of their ticket sales, which is then redistributed among all teams. So with a new mortgage payment, the profits will be less than they are now.

It has nothing to do with the stadium creating energy. That will last only a few games if the product on the field is not up to par or better.

So once again! There will be no stadium. Not with a petition! Not with a million people signing it! The only way it CAN happen is for the public to fund it and after the highway robbery deal that the Marlins just got, it aint happening again.

The Marlins have basically torpedoed any possibility that any of the other local teams will get public money, first and foremost.

But this looks like it's an old(judging by the renderings) and amateur(judging by spelling errors, etc.) college architecture proposal too.

It's also a pretty ****ty location for the Dolphins.

Its politics. They have their ways of sneaking things through. Stephen Ross has made a career of taking advantage of the taxpayer. It might be a few years, but it is inevitable.
