The Dolphins signed guard Randy Thomas and waived wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen on Wednesday. Thomas spent time with the New York Jets (1999-2002) and Washington Redskins (2003-09) during his 11 NFL seasons.
The 6-foot-5, 308 pound Thomas has played in and started in 143 games in his career. In nine of his 11 seasons, Thomas has been a member of an offensive line that has blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher (Curtis Martin, New York Jets, 1999-02; Clinton Portis, Washington, 2004-05 and 2007-08; and Ladell Betts, Washington, 2006).He was originally selected by the New York Jets in the second round (57th overall) of the 1999 draft.
Thomas' signing helps with the injury loss of Nate Garner, who will likely miss the start of the regular season after breaking his left foot for the second time this year.
Grice-Mullen, a rookie, was signed to a Futures contract in January and played in the Canadian Football League last season.

I need to see a lot more from Turner before I put him on the final 53. Right now Moore and Wallace are ahead of him, IMO.

I think Moore and Wallace are ahead of him for the fans. We're all still pissed at the lack of initial return on our investment last year. But I think the coaches want to keep this guy on the team. Moore and Wallace will hit the PS. There's a good chance someone would pick up Turner. Sparano himself said that he messed up not putting him on the field last year. He's a WR in the mold of Brandon Marshall. He's a big target who, hopefully, can create seperation in the end zone. Something we hoped Brandon London would be able to do for us before he got cut. Whether he can be as physical or not remains to be seen. Whether we still need him around with Marshall, Martin and Fasano on the team remains to be seen. But I think the truth of the matter here is that more has to be seen from Moore and Wallace before they beat out Turner for the 53 based on a number of circumstances.

I think Saturday is key for the entire Wr corps, I suspect they really like Moore and Wallace, but need something huge to give up on Turner.
Roberto Wallace is Pat Turner with more size and speed and ST ability, if that pops out on Saturday, Turner should feel his shirt collar shrinking a bit.Trowa likes this. -
I just want to say, I love how special teams has become such an integral part of the game. And I love that our coaches, among others, are building strong special teams units. It just goes to show you that every yard in the NFL counts. God I love football.
