Any recommendations for a newcomer to blues ? Never really listened to a lot until fairly recently and really getting into it.

 

Clapton, BB King, Leadbelly, SRV, Hendrix, Hot Tuna, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, Bo Diddly, Chuck Berry, Taj Mahal, The Animals, Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Keb Mo, Mark Knopfler's solo stuff....

blues influenced a ton of music so even artists who you wouldn't normally think of as 'blues' artists have taken their influence from the blues..

all you need to do is look around

 

You can add Gary Moore to that list as well.:yes:

 

Kenny Wayne Shepard is another one. Check out the What's thumping in your ears thread in the lounge for a great video he does with Double Trouble.:wink2:
