Quite a bit of news about our division rivals so thought we could use a thread focused on those guys.
Aside from reports that the Patriots have been having a horrible training camp offensively, the latest news affects the Jets. They not only lost tackle Mekhi Becton for the year but Zach Wilson might be out for weeks.

I almost want to root for the Jets this year- it's no fun hating them anymore when we know they can't be competitive. I really want them to be decent again so I can get excited about kicking their butts during Jets week(s). That used to be my favorite match-up of the season.

Not me. Having an easy schedule is a great way to get home field advantage and a bye.KeyFin likes this. -

Of all the teams in the division the one I hate the most is the freaking Jets and their obnoxious fans! Bills are a close 2nd and somehow despite their 20 dominance of the conference the Pats are the one I cant stand the least. I guess I've been around a little too long and am stuck in the past on this.

This is a year to take a step. If Tua can even be a top 15 (let alone 10 or higher) we should come close to the Bills and really challenge for a WC.Tin Indian likes this. -
Going into the season with 2 guys with no experience as Co Offensive Coordinators and no one knows who is actually calling the plays. Is this the 2021 Miami Dolphins?
Nope it's the 2022 Patriots. Bill copied our approach from last season since it worked so well for us! Evidently he has a couple of his kids on staff there too and I hear they aren't very good coaches. And the National media still has them ahead of us!
I think this is this is the season where the magic comes off of Belichick. -

I thought Mims was an interesting prospect going into the draft and was a bit annoyed that the Jets were the ones who drafted him, forgetting that the Jets misuse all receiving talent that go through their doors. Will be intriguing to see if he gets his wish.

The Patriots are going to be a .500 team at best…well, with a 17 game season, they’ll be 9-7 at best.

Imagine if Tua threw a pass like Mac Jones did there?

Well that's 2022's first game in the books.
Bills vs Rams.
To my eye the difference here was Buffalo's pass rush vs. the Rams protection. Stafford went down a good few times and looked like he had to deal with just more pressure. Both teams had multiple turnovers, but maybe that's just first game rust. In the end Buffalo were able to sustain drives and get touchdowns but the Rams couldn't, Buffalo kept stopping them.
Josh Allen is legit. There's no obvious weak spot in his game, any type of throw is a threat and that man really can throw the ball hard. I can definitely see the difference between his fast ball and Tua's. Sometimes he just blinked it there when it needed to be. I'm still hopeful Tua's game is going to be good enough and maybe even better in some small ways.
Still, I'm not sure Miami beat Buffalo at all this year mostly because Buffalo were able to both run and pass, you can't leave them with any easy options and their defensive front generates hard pressure. I don't think our OL will be able to match up. Maybe, just maybe, if our D is legit, we can buy a window of opportunity, but the Bills look solid all round.
Summary is here:

Just because I feel like stirring the pot…
I went to bed at halftime last night, so I confess I didn’t see the entire game but from what I did see…
I saw Allen and Stafford throwing lots and lots of short passes. Only a couple were 10+ air yards and as I was watching this I kept wondering…
Where are these 50+ yard passes everyone keeps harping about? I didn’t see a single pass by either of these “elite” quarterbacks that Tagovailoa couldn’t make himself…and a few interceptions thrown that Tua wouldn’t have thrown.
Fins up baby!!!!
