Well, with the signing of Kevin Curtis to replace the injured Brian Hartline is anyone still regretting or peeved that Randy Moss was not claimed off of Waivers a month ago or more?
For me, not sure, Moss has done nothing with the Titans, Curtis missed basically 2 seasons, I do think Moss would have offered more of what we needed in terms of a vertical threat.
Thoughts?

He may have helped or he may be done.
The upsetting thing to me about not claiming Moss wasn't so much Moss per se, but rather what the whole episode merely confirmed about this regime's philosophy. -
Well this is hindsight, however recall also the uproar over Douglas and Grant being waived?
Turns out, they were not missed, with Moss I am not so certain as Kevin Curtis will play this weekend so I'd have to think Moss would have as well, but in the interim between passing on Moss and signing Curtis, Brian Hartline strung together several strong games. -
Now , in hindsight, I wonder if he may have made a difference making catch or two in the Browns game. That big "what if" could have made a huge change in our season. Oh well, we move on. -

Moss is in Tennessee still giving up on plays. The guy isn't even trying. If we could motivate him, yeah. Otherwise, no.

I was critical of us passing on Moss assuming that Moss hadn't said he didn't want to come here. But with a bit of hindsight, I don't think it would have made much difference either way. IMO the primary issue with our offense is the coaching. Henne has been programmed to check down far too much so that he rarely takes advantage of the few opportunities he has to be more aggressive. Too many of those opportunities are poorly set up. And our offense is only designed to work with a very effective running game. I don't believe Henne is good enough to overcome those issues. I do believe that he may be good enough in an offense that was more suited to his skills, but I don't think that the addition of Moss would have accomplished that.

So I'd guess for the Bills game:
Marshall out at the Y
Bess at the Z
Curtis in the slot rotating with Moore and Wallace unless he really shows he has the offense internalized relatively rapidly.
For goodness sakes, they were sending Hartline to block De's and Strong side OLB's, cannot imagine Moss even attempting such a thing.rafael likes this. -

What pisses me off about not signing Moss....is that in my opinion, it is a perfect caricature for the Sparano mind set of, lack of killer instinct. Sure he could have blown up, but so what, we could have just dropped him.
Asides from that....
I thought we also learned that it was Moss himself who didnt want to come to Miami? -
Difference maker? I guess you can say that. :)texanphinatic, smahtaz, and 1 other person like this. -
Many are taking their shots at H&H, giving R&R a free ride. IF we ran, anywhere close to what was expected, we are a different team, with a different record. JMHO.rafael likes this. -

Ireland has had enough to worry about waiting for Marshall to blow up in his face

Great coaches adapt to the players they have. See the pound the ball Shula when he got Dan the Man. It is much tuffer when you do not have the strength you counted on.
To me, it is the lack of a running game which put us in this shape.
On the positive side, our D has been Phantastic. Who woulda thunk it in pre-season? -
I think it is best to wonder what might have been with Moss instead of dealing with someone who might not want to be here and the things Tennesee is dealing with.
-
yes it is.
i would have liked moss personally but it's not a game of what if's.this season we had too many injuries and inconsistencies to be a truly competitive team. a moss signing would have been a waste, being chances were prob slim in having him back next year. we don't miss him in the verticle game because who knows if he would of shown up. -
uhh......no. Moss is a joke, dude has all but dried up. Proof is his less then stellar performances since his trades. Just glad we steered clear on the Moss trade. As much as it kills me to credit the Pats and Bellicheck, they saw that Moss was just about done. Played their cards right and got out like gang busters

When Moss' heart is in it he is one of the best WR to ever play the game. When Moss' heart is not in it he is one of the worst WR to ever play the game. No reason to think Moss would have played with heart here in Miami. I know I wouldn't want him on the field for any Patriot games.

With Pennington on the team I firmly believe Moss would play every snap to the echo of the whistle.

When Moss was available Miami had a heathy Hartline and Marshall (plus the rooks and bess). I don't think you can or should go back and compare Curtis with Moss. The situations are totally different. Moss started talking in NE and got kicked, and he's still bouncing around and starting to talk in Tenn. He is a tumor.

The fact that he got his coach fired in Minnesota and now the Titans have quit on Jeff Fischer with Moss barely seeing the field is all you need to know. The guy is a loser. His talent will rope you in, but its just the noose to hang yourself with. If Brady/Bellicheck, Favre and Jeff Fischer couldn't get him going, then what can? People proving the adage that sometimes talent>brains. -
