I don't think any team would be that stupid but you never know.
Of course I think the trade would be us giving a team a draft pick if it happended.

I'll be shocked if anyone is willing to trade for him

No one is going to trade for Tua. He’ll be released post June 1st, the Dolphins will bite the bullet on his contract and move on from there.

That extension really ****ed our *** with no lube.
No Qb and no money for the new coach.
We should be the favorites for the number 1 pick in 2027

The people who scapegoated Tua aren't here anymore.

I highly doubt Ross is signing up for a 5+ year rebuild.

I'm interested in what the new GM has to say and who the new coach is. If it's a guy like Bob Saleh who will build an elite defense right away, is he going to want to try and develop a young quarterback? Probably not. Just keep Tua you're already paying him.

If it's a no name guy like Jeff Hafley then the rebuild is obviously on. Just cut Tua and just play irrelevant, non-competitive football for the next three years.

No money for the new coach? What are you talking about they can pay whatever they want.

Why are they going to be so bad without Tua though?

Maybe he meant no cap space for the new coach to bring in some players?

Nobody is paying half Tua's salary. But - especially in such a weak QB draft - someone might pay in the 5-10 million range. That helps a little bit more than just cutting him. I still think he'd be a good fit for a team like the Vikings who have a low salary contract QB who needs some pressure. He could also be an option for the Chiefs to tread water until Mahomes returns.
