I mean come on your team deserved it. They played lights out we already have the perfect season, why not add most offensive points EVER!
I get why but come on would belicheat or the bills sent their organization from being I. The record books?

I was all for going for it, but after watching McDaniels presser after the game, I was fine that we didn’t.
The 2002 Oakland A’s broke the record for the most consecutive wins in baseball history with 20 straight wins…and lost the American League Divisional Series to the Minnesota Twins.
I bet the A’s would have traded that record for a win in the divisional series..
I bet Marino would trade every passing record for just 1 Super Bowl victory…
And had we broken the single game scoring record, I’m sure all of us would trade that record for a Super Bowl appearance and/or victory.
Bottom line, what’s our goal, break records or win a championship? Keep our eyes on the prize.Phin McCool likes this. -
We should have tried to score a TD and broken the record.

Not at all. That's like dunking on a team on a fast break before time runs out in a 30-point blowout. Other teams would take note and eventually, we'd be complaining that somebody called a timeout with 00:08 seconds left of a blowout to pass into the end zone and beat us by 30 points instead of 23.

*I remember it because I'm old and remember reading about it in my brother's old NFL encyclopedia (and watching a game recap) back in the early '70s. -
I remember it. I used to watch NFL Films all the time. -
No one will remember who won or lost the open, but they’re going to remember your 12.Rick 1966 likes this. -
Somebody else mentioned that 45 yards was not a gimme for Sanders and so, if we had gone for it and Sanders missed we would have come across as chumps and it would have taken a little of the luster off of the win. McD did the right thing. I doubt anybody on the team is disappointed.

In the first three games of 2023 and all of 2022, only two teams scored 50 points or more. Miami beat the Broncos by 50. -
I also used to love Howard Cosell's halftime recaps of the previous day's action on Monday Night Football. Back then, we didn't have our choice of games to watch and my chances of watching Miami depended on whether they were playing the Browns or Bengals that week. So, those highlight shows were all the exposure I had.Rick 1966 and The_Dark_Knight like this.
