Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.
Yeah I know all of you modders can get these old games whenever you wish and maybe you can tell me how to get them for my PS3 but for everyone else this game is going to be great (if you're a Genesis lover).
This game has 40 games for only $30 and trophy support for the PS3 (HD of course). The entire major Sonic selection is on here, Streets of Rage series, Vectorman series, Golden Axe series, Shinobi series, and much much more.
Personally I love these old Genesis games and this and Uncharted 2 are on top of my must have games for next year.
Here is the link (definitely worth the read if you are interested):

Since it's $30 that's awesome... So tired of companies cashing in on old games because their new ones suck ***... Not calling anyone out...

I am going to post the whole game list at the end of the post for people who don't want to go to the link I posted (anlgp).

Average SNES/Genesis era game = 3-4MB
Average NES/SMS era game = 256KB
They could fit all of that stuff on a CD :lol:sking29 likes this. -

Never had a Genesis so I might have to pick this up. Especially for just 30$. Thx for the heads up king

I'm sure you'll love it the Genesis was a great system. There are even games on there I haven't played that I would love to (for instance I've never played Sonic 3). I can't wait to play these, get trophies, play them in hd, and I can save my games. Cool stuff. -
Remember the old Genesis vs SNES battle? Multiconsole games, exclusives? SNES more powerful console, Genesis bettergames? Doesn't that sound like today? :D

it was just mario v. sonic for me. (sonic for life)sking29 likes this. -
had both SNES and Genesis. Man, that was bliss!!!

They are exactly what Sonic should be, and they're existence drives me crazy cause they play just like the genesis classics, and yet when sega makes a sonic game on consoles, they play like crap.
On handhelds they remember what sonic is all about, on consoles they're stupid. -
found this site, it has alot of nes and genesis games to play. free, on ur broswer.

it alsop has a ton of games under other games like zelda and donkey kiong

I'm all over that....Sonic ROCKED!
-
I'm pretty sure you can get all those games already if you download them on Wii lol
Thats cool though. -
Plus these are in HD (impossible on the Wii) and lets not forget there will be unlockable games. -
i think Nintendo charges $5 per game... That'd end up being $200 in games if all bought on the Wii

All of that for 30 bucks? Count me in as excited about his. I owned a genesis way back when. The most notable difference I can remember between having that or an SNES was that when Mortal Kombat was released Genesis owners got a version with blood in it and SNES owners had to do without.
-
I wonder if games like MK3 will have XBL.
-
Wii charges 5 dollars for just megaman 1! -
MK3 is on XBL already... And PSN I believe...

Well reminded by anlgp's thread I remembered to check and "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" went on sale today. I like playing games in my browser but actually having the ability to use a controller and play in HD is quite a bit better. Strange that I am excited more about a collection of old games than the new ones coming out now.
Plus I am a Sega fanboy from way back and having the best Genesis games on one disk for only $30 bucks is great.
Can't wait to pick this up this weekend and go do a little retro gaming.
Here is Sega's site detailing today's launch:

Ok, I just picked this game up, and if you don't have it yet, just go get it. I think it has like every good/great Genesis game on it that I can think of.

I wouldn't mind a "Nintendo Ultimate Collection" for the PS3/360.
