He explicitly says he thinks the best comparison in modern times to Tannehill is Dalton, so that tells you what he means by "good enough to helm a playoff team". It means good enough to get to the playoffs, perform like crap, and lose.

Tannehill has NEVER had as bad games as Dalton (Dalton had a passer rating of 2 in a game against the Browns last year!!). And Dalton is just terrible in the playoffs. He's been to 4 playoff games and his average passer rating is 57.8, with the highest ever being 67 (with 1 TD to 6 INT's overall haha!):

Well, I hope this year we finally shut up those Tannehill haters. RT's has to prove it of course, and he's got the weapons now, so I think we're about half a year away from hearing much less of this crap.

 

Sleeper Alert, Blake Bottles and Allen Robinson. Allen Robinson had a quiet rookie season in comparison to some, but played really well in 10 starts. People are raving about his progress this off season In JAX.

 

That list is of QB's + WR's both drafted since 2012 that haven't yet won a playoff game. The top 10 list includes Geno Smith and E.J Manuel. That shows you how few candidates there are, so if Tannehill doesn't make top 5 there is something wrong (he ranks Tannehill 3rd, not 4th), and making top 5 isn't saying much given the filters on creating the list. In fact, I'd put Tannehill-Landry 1st on the list. His first two spots are for rookie QB's (Mariota and Winston) which is a bit premature IMO given they've shown nothing yet in the NFL.

Ryan Juice combo is nice, should be on any list.

 

Dude is an asshat. Just another "durrrrr he doesn't carry his team to the playoffs on his back durrrrr" dolt. He realizes many people blame it ALL on the QB, and he's feeding off it. Comparing him to Dalton says it all.

Ah, I was still thinking "combo" when you said that.

 

I like Robinson but I am not big on Bortles, I felt his throwing motion was too slow personally and quick CB's will jump his throws which we showed when we played them. If he fixes up his mechanics he has a better chance but so far not a big fan. Bridgewater to Johnson I think has a better chance in my personal opinion at the moment. I even like Carr to Cooper chances more than Bortles to Robinson.

 

This. The author is all over the place. Offers very little to back his assertions.

But meh, it's just his opinion as a Bleacher Report contributor.

 

I'll tell y'all what...it must be easy as hell to get a job at the Bleacher Report...some of them are good but most do not know how to use spell check before posting their articles. :lol:

 

I give Bleacher Report a lot of credit for the progress they've made in the last 5-7 years. They were undoubtedly the laughingstock of online NFL rhetoric. The truth is they kept at it and imo added a lot of substance and insight, as well as better writing.

We all lay turds now and then, but I think they've progressed mightily overall since they started.
